I knew the egg-shaped boss would make an appearance - you make it look so easy too! as good as the modern R-Type games look, they just don't capture the appeal of the original arcade and home computer versions, but there wasn't one bad version of R-Type in your top 10 - thanks for sharing Jamie, hope you had a good Christmas
@rustyjames_shortfilms You know me so well don't you. I can recall someone on Live Stream asking where the Egg Shape Boss saying came from, so I had to include it again.
I have say i have got a lot more appreciation for this series after I started following you Jamie. And I like it much more now than I did back in the day. So thank you for passion and dedication for R-Type. Wonderful video.
For me, the number 1 R-Type would be the Spectrum version purely because it was the first version I ever played and I played it to death. Amiga is a very close second though 😊 As the game loaded there was a countdown timing on the spectrum version, took around 2 minutes to load the game and all you could do is watch the timer tick down as you look at the Dobkeratops on the background screen.
@Quagaars Can totally understand that. It's the same with me and the Amiga being my very first. The Speccy version is a nice version and you cannot go wrong with its nostalgia Loading Screens/Times.
@mk_games_official Oh I see, well Project-X definitely features in my Top 10 Shooters. Did Longplay it on recent Live Stream. Very much looking forward to your finished Game. Thanks for all your Work.
Thanks for showing off all the Types of R you can enjoy! I have yet to come anywhere in R-Type GB and R-Type III for Nintendo DS(the only ones in the series I actually own), nice to see what lies ahead! :D
Great compilation of your favourite R-Type games Jamie. My favourite shump has always been Defender, might put something together like yours. Hope you had a great Christmas.
@boulderdashc6425 What time is it there? Only joking. Thanks for your support this year my friend. All the best for 2025. Do you buy Games much these days?
Magnificent video for a magnificent set of games. I wondered how many times yousaid the word Bydo in the video and fancied going back to watch it again to count but then noticed it'd be an hour of couting. So i will estimate it at 38 times. Well done!
Jamie "Here is my top 10 R-Type games" And at number one - R-Type DX on the Goomba Colour And at number one - R-Type II on the Amiga "It's not my Spanish girlfriend" And at number one - Super R-Type on the Sneeze :-) And at number one - R-Type Final 3 (does someone need to look up the definition of Final) evolved (really!!! more naming) on the PS "By the count of five you will be asleep" And at number one - R-Type III the Third Lightning on the SNog And at number one - R-Type Dimensions EX on the Boy Band PS 5ive And at number one - R-Type Final on the PS this was a great sequel 2 And at number one - R-Types On the "I'm not a number, I'm a free PlayStation" And at number one - R-Type "Squiggly line" Delta on the real Playstation not a sequel And at number one - R-Type on the Amiga "OK were in a committed relationship" Why choose?? lol
@@daishi5571 That's one of the funniest comments I've ever got. So basically, every game in my Top 10 is at Number 1. That makes things much simpler. Cheers for putting in the extra time in making me chuckle 😃
Thank you for all your likes and comments.

@roartjrhom4932 Music to my ears, and I know it features a lot, but appreciate any views. Hope your doing okay and hello to the Roar Family.
@MorganJustGames thank you. And will do! 😊😊😊

I hope Project X Light Years gonna join this list in the future 😅
Only if R-Type features in its Title. I need to try out your latest Versions.
@MorganJustGames sorry I meant best side shooter games

Probably Jamie's hardest video ever ;)
It was difficult to put 10 Games I love in a certain order, but some were easy.

@TheRealCheesemaker it was nice to return to the Game Boy version. Thank you for watching. Hope your enjoy the third installment of R of the Type.
Great compilation of your favourite R-Type games Jamie.
My favourite shump has always been Defender, might put something together like yours.
Hope you had a great Christmas.
@dennyhaynes3 Cheers Denny. So many Defender Games and Clones. Hope you had a great Xmas. Hope 2025 is a good one for you.
@MorganJustGames Thanks Jamie, all the best for 2025
awesome skills mate :)
Thank you.
Love the music on all of these. ❤
@@Jacz1 I agree with you 100%
Cool idea for a video. I always enjoy R-Type. Played the crap out of Delta back in the day, R-Type 3 and R-Types i played a lot as well.

@@MorganJustGames Yeah still buying games I will buy anything but mainly PS4, Evercade and C64 homebrew. The time is 2:09pm (Sun) here! HA 🤣
Excellent video Jamie, I happened to play a bit of R-type 3 on snes boxing day, it's rock hard, you make them all look so easy 😅
Would you let me know when mega r-type is about to come out so I can get it please. Then I can suck at that too 🤣
@Happy_Gilmour_84 I cannot wait for Mega R-Type. Fingers crossed for a physical version.
@MorganJustGames let me know when you hear something please Jamie,

I'll count them one day then see if your 38 guess was correct. Thanks for watching my Video Mr Spud.
He said "Bydo Empire" 7 times according to the transcript (as long as the transcript is correct)
@spudliet 34 Times mentioned. Not as much in the first two thirds.
@@MorganJustGames I was pretty close :D
It's always time for an R-9 👍
Might see a few in this Video.
Delta is so good...
@Steril707 I agree Michael, really great to play. Hope your well.
Hope you had a good xmas. No Atari R-Type 😪
I did thank you. Hope you did too.
I hope Smeone does a Ps5 version of Gradius 5.
