One of my favorite teachers was my cosmetology teacher. There were two teachers. One for each class. The one teacher asked why I always wore black and should take that black crap off my face. My teacher looked her dead in the face and told her buzz off because I was perfect. 🥰🖤 By far though my favorite teacher was my 4th grade English teacher Mrs. Robinson. Everyone had to write a report on their favorite book or short story. I wrote mine in Edgar Allan Poe's "Tell Tale Heart." I made a clay eyeball, a mini lantern, and a bed made out of an old match box. Other kids made fun of me but she told them that I had a higher reading level than them and asked for a copy for her to keep. R.I.P. im in 8th grade and we just got a new science teacher this year and hes like 23 and a super cool dude, we had a spring talent show last week and he played the drums for a 7th grade special needs students guitar performance (which the student absolutely nailed, he shredded the solo for master of puppets by metallica and blew the whole school away). major respect to the teacher though, because he doesnt even have the student in class he just volunteered to do it. super nice guy, everyone likes him.

I still dream I’m in high school, but I’ve already graduated, cuz I’m 53, but I want to have a better GPA because I had a bad childhood and school was the least of my worries. By my senior year I was so behind, I had to take extra classes to graduate, because the 3rd high school I was at had different requirements then the other 2 school districts I had been in. I was so stressed, I passed but I have always been embarrassed about my GPA.
The past is over darling! Maybe you can pay it forward by helping other young people in junior high or high school or even people that are trying to get their GED score better by you tutoring them! Did you ever see the movie Slumdog Millionaire? I really recommended! Because so often we don't understand why things happen in our life the way they do until a certain moment arrives! Valerie, you can learn at any age. A low GPA does not mean you are incapable of learning. Some learn in other ways than from a traditional classroom setting. I also had a difficult childhood starting from roughly third grade and ended up barely graduating from high school. Fast forward years later and I'm married with children. My husband and I decided to home school. I got to learn all those things I missed out on. I had never learned the times tables, but I learned them and algebra. I also never learned to swim when I was young, but I did when I was in my forties. As the other poster indicated, tough experiences and failures shape your character so there is still something positive to be gained from your past life.
My homeroom teacher constantly dressed up for various occasions and often brought in real medieval weapons like broadswords and axes (which he used to chop students' heights into the doorframe as well as the occasional desk). I have no idea why that wasn't grounds for being fired, but everyone loved him. They asked him to not dress up "so crazy" for yearbook pictures, so he went dressed as an 1800s gentleman with a tophat and everything. You always knew when test day was cause he came dressed as the grim reaper with a giant "F" on the front of his robe. I never had him as a teacher, but those 20 minutes a day for 4 years were amazing!

When I finished my work she would let me go and read or clean or whatever appropriate things I felt like doing. And we had some really cool puppet shows. And my 4th grade teacher Mr. Corrao who took us outside in the spring when the weather was nice to do our schoolwork and play kickball on our breaks.
On senior ditch day, there was about 4 of us that didn't ditch in my english class. The teacher decided to take us all off campus with her across the street to get mexican food and paid for us all.
