We got to explore, try amazing BBQ, drink A LOT of beer and I even got to try a fried Twinky which was much better than I thought it would be. Tasha wasn't a fan!!
We had the most amazing time at the Houston Rodeo and can't wait to go back and see some roping!!

I got to be on the dirt of the old Astrodome back in the late 60’s. Our livestock judging team participated. It was quite an awe inspiring event. They had dairy cattle on one side & beef cattle on the other side.
I attended Cy-Fair High School back in the late 70s / early 80s.
I had several pieces of art in the Livestock show!!! Lol!! I won a couple of awards for ceramics.
My father was printing pressman. He printed up a whole lot of art prints from artists. They were sold at the Livestock Show, also at Michael's arts and crafts stores. The artist would come in and look at the preview printing, tell the changes he wanted, and then approve them. My dad kept the "rejected" previews!!! Lol. There were probably a dozen of them.

In case you haven’t seen all the shops yet take you some money to buy Texas stuff to send to friends and relatives back home. There are a lot of clothes and home stuff Jewelry and everything under the sun.

If you are indoors yes, outdoors it's ok to leave on, but that also depends on where you are. Inside a place like Billy Bob's Texas or Southern Junction Steakhouse, it's fine to leave on all the time. Some oldtimers might get annoyed, but like you said, it's America, land of the free. Lol
@@Jml416 it's just a matter of respect.. usually get annoyed yes, but it's not the end of the world. I'd personally always take my hat/cap off anytime I eat no matter inside or out, on top of a barn, inside my vehicle, etc. no matter where
@mm37too fair enough. I take mine off most of the time too, especially during the National Anthem or a prayer.

As far as electrics - you need to concern yourself with CHARGE TIME. "How long does it take to charge it?" Do you want to get a hotel every time you need an 8- or 10-hour recharge? Every 300 miles? You can barekly make it around Houston's freeways in that time! San Antonio is more than 300 miles away... think of Recharge Time, not range, not anything else.

I'm from Ohio but had relatives from Big Sandy, TX - and I think that's where the Texas State Fair is - is that the Astro Dome? Did you ever make it to the rodeo? LOL
The Texas State Fair is held in Dallas every year in October. It's at Fair Park where the Cotton Bowl is in the middle of the fairgrounds. Big Sandy is a nice place, been there a few times.
Yes, that’s the Astrodome. Rodeo starts after the cook off.
The TX State Fair starts in September and is a full month and ends the first week or so in October.
