If it should be, one can reinforce the buttons with Nylon/polyamide or polyester thread. (Or even fishing line?) Just let the ends be "hanging" long, like 15 cm, or so, ( 6 inches ? ), and just stitch a lot, as desired, and then tie the ends together with a lot of knots on the inside, afterwards. A tail or end with knots will be hanging, but if on the inside, it cannot be seen. It is fool proof. I have done it, and it has held up, no buttons falling of, for many months now. More "pull strength" mostly, of cause, only. Also, if the color on the Gorka should fade, it should be possible to refresh it with some dye, bonding chemically to the cellulose fibers in eg. cotton, for "longer lasting / better" results? I do not think, that the "original, fabric dye" on this Gorka suit "palatka" fabric does that? Eg. Dylon Dye, has these properties, if it is? : www.dylon.co.uk/en/home.cky.html . Hi, I used mine for a long time and no problem with buttons. Anyway as you said there is always chance to resew it. If the color on gorka fade you can leave it for dry places and buy a new one :D I dont think the dye will stand a long. And of course how you want to dye it without washing? The PALATKA fabric is not really familiar with colors.

I have a Gorka 4, and the brown parts are ripstop material. On this Gorka 3k, is it a different material? It does not look like ripstop.
Yes it is different knitting names GRETA, but same material mixed. Anyway it is not ripstoped.
