- This video provides a basic introduction into electric potential energy. It explains how to calculate it given the magnitude of the electric charge, electric field, as well as the height of the charged particle from some reference point. It also provides examples of calculating electric potential and the work done by an electric force to accomplish a certain task.

You've saved me so much time and frustration with my classes. Thank you!

I hear those words "In this video..." and feel a cool wave of relief wash over me.
Thank you for all the time you've put into making these videos for us. You've helped me with physics, o chem, gen chem, and calc. I truly appreciate everything you've done
Me too!!! Your videos have been invaluable for me and I have recommended them to others! Thank you for your time and caring!
Thank you for all the work you put into your videos! They are a blessing!
Thank you very much sir, for this video and for countless hours of your previous videos. We've learned so much thanks to you 😊
ur single-handedly saving my grades, THANK YOU SO MUCH
Its you dioo
diooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
You are a savior. Thank you for all of the helpful material you make.
If V=E*d (22:50) then U=-q*E*y becomes U=-q*V, which is the opposite of what you wrote (U=qV). I think this is a matter of sign conventions. If you are to specify that V=E*d, then I think U=-q*V.
This seems to lead to the inconsistency with E. At 22:32 you find E=10,000V/m, but then at 28:27 you use E=-10,000V/m. If we use V=-E*d (which would give U=q*V, which is what you use), then V=100V=-E*(0.01), so that E=-10,000V/m.
This channel should be called 'saving grades'
🤣
Honestly this man saved my results last academic semester

I love your videos starting from math to physics
I like hearing him type the keys on his calculator.. 🤣🤣 but this guy is so effective👌
Thank you for this vid. It really helped me big time.
Grateful for ya, this was some really helpful practice for me!
Wow, right on time!
Thank you once again.
thank you for this video :')
Good day, could you please make a video on the estimation of nitrogen in organic compound using Kjedahls method.
Thank you.
Sir your are good teacher you helped many students around the would from somalia africa
Organic chemistry tutor of the lake! What is your wisdom for me who's going to start my Assesments soon? How shall I pass
Look up spaced repetition. Also review the same new material first thing before sleep and first thing in the morning.
I'd recommend taking notes, review before bed, again in the morning. Then it can be reviewed 1-2 days later, and again later in the week, at a minimum. This let's you study choose a different subject the next day for the sleep/wake trick.
Gandalf: you shall not pass
Just kidding. Just keep at it and you'll do it
Wow this is the first time i've caught a video so early, you're the clutchest man alive 😭

what if we did a different solve and equalize the both forms of equations u =eqy (1) and u =qv (2) and we get the same answer right?
Solving your equation you will get same formula he used in the video hence it is the same thing. I guess that's how you get it
The negative signs are confusing but I guess it doesn't really matter because the difference of electric potential energy is what really matters.
thank you
do irretional inequalities with even numbers, that one is still missing. like ✓(x² -1) > 2x
Hi. Really great videos man. Please keep it up ! I was wondering what type of programming you use to make these vids or how you input them. I'm looking to make some science videos too.
Thank you.
Hi,
Can anyone tell me why he puts a negative sign to electric potential energy equation?. I know we get the negative sign when work is being applied. But without applying any work. Potential energy be positive
I was wondering this too
Always Remember , work done by conservative force always give -ve of potential energy
for part b) i'm very confused. 18:23 isn't it asking for the "Electric Potential ENERGY", different from just the "Electric Potential", aren't they different formulas? why did you use just the EP formula instead of EPE????
I understand that you are trying to improve the previous videos by redoing them but where are the previous videos ... I really need them
why in other video of yours the formula of electric potential energy didn't have a - on it? it's only U=Eqy
i was wondering this too and when i looked up other sources, it appears that the sign is not really consistently reported, just as long as it's opposite the work done. so i saw some sources that said W = -qEy and U = qEy, some that said W =qEy (use the sign of q) and U=qEy. So i guess sign doesn't matter so long and the sign used for W and U are opposite
I literally love you so much dude you don't even know me but yeah
Danke.
what is the purpose of moving the negative sign on the other side?
You are the best thank you and thanks for translation to Arabic
You guys watch these videos too ?😂 what country you from?
The maestro of Academics
Is the electric field always negative?
Genius
God bless u
why the workdone equals the negative of change of the electric potential energy
Negative and positive units are incorrect here but despite this its quite good video

Is there difference between electric potential and electric potential energy
Yes. Electric potential = e.p. energy / test charge.
Test charge is a charge of a particle whose dimensions and mass are negligible. You can think of it as a point or a dot in the field.
Now potential is saying how much potential energy is needed to move that dot out of place.
"In short, an electric potential is the electric potential energy per unit charge." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_potential
thank u 3jan2020 6:42 pm
cool
why is there a negative sign in the "negative change in potential energy"?
Work done by conservative force is negative
it is a - b does it right
please can you help a noob, can somebody tell me if i can wire a 3 pole
relay as a single pole, i think thats what i want/need?, i needed a
relay to turn on and off from - 24vac,on the coil side-, 240v 35a on the
main load , and with out spending silly money i could only find a 3
pole one cheap, thats 35 amps , all i need it to do is when activated by
the 24v ac , allow the current of my 240v ac to pass to make the
circuit, and that can be just the live or the live and neutral, etc etc
if
it can be done?, would wiring it so my live splits and goes in to all 3
poles and then out all 3 poles(when activated), to give more current,
as its for my mig welder ,(24v trigger), so more amps the better, thank
you
Hey there, wonderful question I’d like to offer my solutions..
As you know a^2 + b^2 = c^2
So if two legs of a triangle are 7 and 9, and your missing the hypotenuse here’s how to answer.
7^2 = 49 , 9^2 = 81.
So that’s: 49+ 81 = the Square root of C.
130 = square root of c
That’s equals : 10 times the square root of 13.
So whats the formula for electric potential energy? I have one thst is kq1q2/r
that is electric force....
@@yourlocalscribe948 you r thinking about kq1q2/r^2
@@esper_454 oh yes indeed my bad! I wrote the wrong thing youre right but I was thinking of Electric FIELD
@@yourlocalscribe948no it's not the force it is Electric potential energy only
Force = KQ1Q2/r^2
how E is constant

Can someone help me?
The homeowner desires that a ceiling fan with light kits be installed in 5 different rooms.
Each fan contains a light kit that can accomodate four 60-watt lamps. Each fan motor draws a current of 1.8 amperes when operated on high speed.
It is assumed that each fan can operate more than three hours at a time and therefore must be considered a continuos-duty device. The fans are to be connected to a 15-ampere circuit.
Because the devices are continuos duty, the circuit current must be limited to 80% of the continuos connected load.
How many fans can be connected to a single 15-ampere circuit?
I have an answet i just dont know if i did it correcltly 😅 TIA
sorry have never done this good luck

Negative& Positive sign concept here is not correct
fs in the chat lol
lol after almost an hour of note taking, i finally started HW problems just to realize the actual EPE formula is EPE = kq/r, which was mentioned NADA in this video, why?????
I think it's the same formula, it just cancels out the r^2 in the electric field formula with the "r" (d) of displacement (?)
Anyone 2024
