- Hey, Everyone! Thank you so much for watching this video! It took me a little over a month to complete this beautiful custom quilt, and I think my customer is going to LOVE it! I love the combination of patchwork quilt elements and applique in the design. I used a beautiful boxy meander free motion quilting to finish off the quilt and even put in a quilt sleeve for the first time! You learn something new in every quilt you make!

What a gorgeous quilt! The recipient is going to be so pleased! With the quilt I'm working on I've had the mantra "Trust the process.". The last couple days I've added "If that doesn't work, create a new process.". That's not totally working either so then I fall back on "Finished is better than perfect.". 😊
Those are all great mantras to have when quilting! When I start feeling stressed or overwhelmed by a project, I try to remind myself to have fun. If I need to take a little break, I will. It’s hard to be creative when you feel stressed!
What a beautiful design! First... Creating the background "fabric" (and perfectly matched technique on the back) with piecing. Great idea! The African imported squares are stunning.

That’s a gorgeous quilt. It’s very unusual because of the fabrics used and it shows off those panels really effectively. I hope the person who orders it is delighted with it. They should be.

How fun to collaborate with someone and have it turn out so great. I love the organic layout. Do you have another video on your boxy meander free motion quilting pattern? I was not able to see it well enough to try to mimic it at some point, but it sounds like something I would like to try. Great job. I'm sure your customer will be thrilled. So beautiful!!

With all the work & hours poured into this BEAUTIFUL quilt, hopefully you’ll label & give credit to yourself for this quilt!! Really like the blanket stitch variegated thread used around the blocks-so creative! I may ‘borrow’ this type quilt design :).
With all the piecing top & back, how difficult was it to quilt with so much bulk?

Thank you so much! It really wasn’t too difficult. The quilt was definitely more bulky because of the different fabrics, but I just took it slow and quilted one section at a time! 👏🏻

Looks gorgeous. It looks like you added a special stitch around each block with like a variegated thread or is those highlights part of the fabric?

Was a quilt label requested as part of the order from the customer? Is that something you would propose if it wasn't?
I don’t usually put labels on quilts that I make for others. I probably should, but it’s just never been something I felt I needed to include.
