R.I.P. lovely woman, she was more than an opera singer. She could dance, act, and above all sing with a lovely voice. Very few times you meet a woman who is well-rounded in these three characters, her charisma was evident just by looking at her, she didn't even have to sing for you to notice it. We'll remember you Ms. Bubbles.
She is gone, another bit of history. One of the few great divas of the last century. Future generations I feel will not have been as lucky as we have to have had these great singers in their lives. Thank you Beverly and thank you RUclips, And a special thanks to the Beverly Sills web site.
How wonderful that U Tube is here now so that so many of us have some venue in which to express our profound sense of loss in the passing of this formidable woman.
Today would have been Beverly's 80th Birthday. We lost a diva with the intelligence of 100 people and a talent that will never be equalled, ever! Rest in peace Beloved Beverly.
I met Mr. Wadsworth at his home in South Carolina only yesterday and he pointed me in the direction of this video after telling me the story behind this concert. What a wonderful occasion this was. Bless you, Ms. Sills.
God, when you think of the opera greats we have lost this year...Ms. Sills,Regine Crespin,Richard Bradshaw,Jerry Hadley, Maestro Pavarotti, and the others I have forgotten. This is a lovely piece to remember them all- and here especially Beverly Sills-wonderful in so many ways.
This SONG will be forever in my heart. Just listening to it brings tears to my eyes. I could listen to this a hundred times and never grow tired of it. I only wish there was sheet music for the piano accompaniment.
She was just sensational when singing at Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires long ago: Cleopatra, Manon, Lucia! You´ll be always rememberd. God save the Queen "Bubbles"!
I am not ready to hear this clip again knowing that we are passed the time for her "to leave" us. The chorus of angels in Heaven must be sounding a lot better since she joined them!
I am 47 and this is my first introduction to Beverly Sills' work. And it's her last. I am very moved by it. I see why she is called Bubbles.. such a joyous personality radiates from her.
HCPit said it the best for me. I will miss her wonderful personality, thank goodness I have many of her recordings. She was my vocal idol and my vocal ideal.
If you go onto the Beverlysillsonloine website you will find all the words of this song as well as thewords of the original one which she changed for her farewell. Hope this is of use to you!
Not allowed to post a regular URL, but if you haven't been there yet, go to beverlysills dot com. Those are the guys who've been posting all her videos. Rare recordings there.

This is so moving that it makes me cry every time. She will never sing again! But when she did sing, it was PHENOMENAL!!!
What a glorious sound that woman made.
You can't but be silent after this performance. I cried inside me!

A sad day for Opera!
It is sooo moving and i got so emotional but i have to wonder what the sound of creaking rubber was doing in it...
What year was this?
Nice to see. Shame the color correction's so buggered
