Hey Shawn I'm in the UK specifically England, picked eggs are a staple in our fish and chip shops (aka chippys) so this is great to see. Brilliant you get your children involved and understanding natural preserved food. 🙏
I'm making these eggs for Christmas gifts. Yesterday I boiled & peeled 36 dozen quail eggs. It took me over 5 hours. That machine is now on my "want list".
Shawn, I've been fascinated by your mousetrap vids for a couple of years. This one surprised me! Thanksgiving morning I hand peeled 72 Costco quail eggs in a half hour, but the peeling machine looks like a "must have" tool. Stirring to center the yolks is a valuable trick too. I'd like to be known as the neighborhood pickled egg guy, and give out jars at Christmas time! 🎄❤🎄❤🎄❤🎄❤🌞 EDIT: Looks like I have some digging thru the archives to do. I'm 70 & just got my hunting license. Currently shotgun season, then a couple of weeks of muzzle loader!
I love it! I've never heard of an egg machine. I want one. I love making egg salad sandwiches. I need an egg peeler. I'll look for a link but if not could you please add one?
I tried quail eggs once…and only once, because they were such a pain to take the shells off. Were amazing in a salad though. Next time there’s a good sale on eggs, I’ll have to try them. I just made bread and butter pickles, and pickled beets….yummmm
I rechecked the video, and unfortunately, Shawn didn't say how long. I looked up how long pickled chicken eggs should sit in the brine, and it's about 5 days. So, I presume quail eggs would be at least the same. Or maybe less, because they're smaller than a chicken egg.
@@onionhead5780 You're welcome! I've never actually tried pickled eggs before. Next time I go to the grocery store, I'll buy a jar and and give them a try. If I wind up liking them, I think I'll try out Shawn's recipe, using quail eggs. At a public market near my work, there's a vendor that sells quail eggs.
Korean sauna eggs: cook them under pressure in an instant pot for 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours. The whites turn increasing shade of tan with slight nutty flavor, the yolks become creamy. I'd think it degrades the nutritional content, but they are tasty and worth experiencing at least once.
HI RUBY LOL I WAVE BACK, I figure you was going to run water over the eggs, I do that with the chicken Eggs some times. I Have never ate Pickled Eggs Neither Chicken Pickled Eggs, I have wonder what they taste like. I don't know of anyone that has Pickled Quail Eggs around where I live. I wish I lived close to you all. Do they taste kinda like Pickles do ? That Machine works Way Better. I bet the Onions taste good Pickled also.
Botulinum Toxin (we would normally say 'botulism' to refer to the sickness). Not a worry here as these have enough acidity and are kept refrigerated, meant to consume fairly quickly (within a few months).
@chubbrock659 seems creepy that a daughter that when younger used to smile more and if the smile is gone what happened to them for them not to be as smiley anymore. When children are not happy around someone, there is a projected uncomfortableness in a person's company.
Everything is from your own backyard. Love it.
Spicy pickled eggs are the BEST!
I agree although for some reason no one wants to ride in the truck with me the next day 😅
Shawn your children are growing up in front of our eyes. I miss my children being so young.
That egg sheller is amazing!
Hey Shawn I love your regular content but this is a cool change of pace. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for sharing these recipes !
I never knew I needed an egg shelling machine.
The Chinese have probably ripped them off on Amazon 😂

That looks amazingly tasty!🫡👍🏼
nice beard, looks great. I love pickled quail eggs, I have some puma peppers and sugar rush peach peppers from the garden to try this year.
I do like that idea of more per jar, even though they're small. Makes a nice snack. More so when you've raised all the ingredients yourself.
I know ill never make those but i did like watching you make them.
I get quail eggs at costco. It took me a half hour to peel 72 eggs.
That looks very tasty
Ok, gonna need to try this
Looks like a delicious snack.
Great video 👍
Looks delicious
I really need to try these 😋
Great pickling!

Great idea! I get these eggs at Publix but I wish I had a p,ace like you to have my own…. I love it!

Good job
The garden is a game changer.

That egg peeler is brilliant
I love pickle quail eggs
This was interesting. A few yrs ago a friend gave me a jar of these. It's kinda a required taste.
love the world of weird, these survival techniques will be super useful after the apocalypse. thx guys
G'stuff!
Peeling the eggs is definitely a good way to get kids to work thier hand muscles.
👌
😍😍😍😍
I make dill pickles the same way they are delish
Hey shawn love your videos Ive been watching you for a while!
Thank you, Ruby!

oddly satisfying
😋😋😋😛
Soon, a collection of egg peelers throughout history 🥚😁 👍
If you design a better eggshell peeler, the world will beat a path to your door!

I peel under running water with a pot underneath for a quick dip every now & then.
Never had pickled 🥚
How long does the eggs have to sit in the brine? Did I miss that?

I’d love to see how the quail are doing
Ahh dude eggs!!!
How many mice were saved by Shawn making Pickled Eggs this week?
I did not even know that type of egg-peeling machine does even exist 😮

That's an amazing idea. I've never boiled mine for more than 5 minutes.
Where did you get the stirring pan?
I have the same quail peeler
Question: the vinegar, 10%? Here in Poland we use it the most, what are u using?
Just remember when you peel eggs by hand you have to make that face, otherwise it won't work 😊
That machine also makes hand jam as well as pickled eggs... according to the sign.
looking good !
Hey Shawn I saw you in public but I was to scared to say hi I’m working on to stop being scared of people I don’t know I’m just here to say hi
What farmers market do you sell at?
for how much do u sell it in the farmer market ?
I've never seen an egg sheller. Does it work with chicken eggs too, or is there a larger size for them?
Where do you buy an egg shelling machine and what is it called?

Num num
The little one named Ruby is a bit more efficient than the machine
Do those Eggs taste like Chicken Eggs? Or more "wild"
I tried Duck once and really hatred them.
Eww, looks good tho
Snack on them for a month?? When i make quail eggs they're usually gone in a few days...😅
Hi Shawn be careful of botulism. It is deadly
Very little risk of that here.....low PH plus being refrigerated and eaten within a few months....extraordinarily low risk of botulism.
As always Shaun, eat the eggs fast Shaun, eat the eggs fast and protect your family from botulism
Afraid of RUclips now?
Shawn, did you lose subscribers to the tune of 10s of thousands?
Who else is watching this while eating dominos
wha'ts that on your face
Disgusting
She peels them and drops them as part if the process. Cute
PLEASE NOTICE ME SENPAI!
Shawn should drop you in his process.
How do you say "Toxine botullique" in English?
(Comment dit-on "Botullic Toxine", en français ?).
Botulinum Toxin (we would normally say 'botulism' to refer to the sickness). Not a worry here as these have enough acidity and are kept refrigerated, meant to consume fairly quickly (within a few months).

I don't care about eggs or pickled eggs.
Seems creepy to worry about his daughter. The variety is cool, I learn new things.
