I don't know anything about flying a drone but Matt's flying always looks a level or two above the average youtuber. Changing direction and rotating at the same time to keep the subject in the centre, all really smooth. Love it
yes nice matt. Anybody wondering what the large concrete circle is, when they made for the Bristol Brabazon. They demolished Charlton village so the plane could turn at the end of the runway as it had a huge wing span. they made it to late as they started making jet aero planes by the time the Brabazon took here first and final flight.
Filton is riddled with underground shelters complete with toilets. I worked there for 9 years and flew in and out on the main runway. There used to be RAF buildings on the North side and Airbus demolished many historical buildings during my tenure there.
All that historical data on 16mm film just left to rot and lost forever! ⚠️😲 I once worked in an old textile cotton mill and was tasked with sorting through an old unused cellar and told to junk everything in a skip! I found lots of old cine film of the mill and old historical black and white photographs of the place and people who had worked there, checked with my manager if he was sure these were to be junked and he just shrugged his shoulders and said junk it all⚠️😲 I carefully boxed it all up and took it to our local textile museum who were fascinated by the historical significance of the items I'd saved from being skipped, of course I gave them the lot and they were happy it had all been saved from destruction!
Smashing video yet again. Can't help but think the scale of that shaft at end with cranes reminds me of the work they did in London for the new sewer system, using boring train machines .Does a new housing development need such major sewerage system and what could it be otherwise.
It was one of the Vulcan dispersals that they moved out to when threat levels were higher. Hayes Way runs right through where it was now but there was an apron dedicated to them (wind back time on Google Earth desktop). There are a few interesting stories about Vulcans in Filton.
I’ve dismissed this one too……what a plonker….I will be in there tomorrow 👍 I think I may have to have a further look again at some more places around here as monks park has a big Bristol waterworks type place that was rumoured to be something other than reported…
We need more TeleTubby hills. I want a chinese made umbrella with holes in to let me breathe. What a beauty find. In a reservoir full of water as well.... Shame it was empty.
This was a covert runway for covert aircraft from the US and UK duringbthe cold war. They could illuminate the runways or landing lights when needed during the night. Totaly separate from the civilian end. They also recorded noise levels on landing and take off, for the boffins to adjust the decibels of the engines.
What a load of shite, covert aircraft didn't fly into Filton right in the middle of Bristol. The place where they did fly is RAF Machrihanish which is now Campbeltown Airport, the runway here literally points straight out to nowhere apart from the USA if you go far enough which is exactly what they did with their stealth aircraft. Run them across the Atlantic, refuel them, turn them around then send them back.
Well no. Look at your own footage, that's the main runway and for most of Filtons life the only operational one. There was never a radar anyway near there and underground buildings aren't necessarily bunkers.
I live in Filton I would love to see this can you tell me how to get into it please also you need to come see the ww2 bunkers up the road in lockleaze there are still mounts on ground where anti air craft guns were mounted concrette shelters and air raid shelters underground all publicly accessible
Is not sneaky. You have to have a secure control centre during war times. You are clearly too young. My mum worked in the wind tunnel during development of Concorde and I was there for the first flights and touch and go. Amazing memories.
ha! I know you am what you are and that, but, still you said exactly what I was thinking with them comments about that brolly not making you look like a man who is into sexual relations with all the ladies 😅 Thing is, I'm aware of your kind in 'real life' too...and they'd probably say the same also 🤣😅🤣
This channel would be absolutely amazing if it wasn't for that annoying know-it-all Welsh man, If you played music instead of that completely incorrect annoying thinks he knows it all Welsh narrator I'm sure your views would go through the roof,
Very obviously false and disingenuous. Turn off the camera, break the fence/wall/gate, turn on the camera and say “oh look we can get in here” Plainly obvious

The music is soothing as well.
crazy, i lived near filton airfield for 18 years and had no idea. cool video matt

Wow didn't know those modern landscaped sculptures existed.. worth taking a walk out

Very sneaky find - great video and drone footage👍
Love Teletubbies Hill - and your brollie 🤣🤣

Interesting Matthew Thank you
Who'd have thought a reservoir would look like that 😁 real nice find that, proper gem and now we know where the teletubbies used to play out 😂
Great video Matt 👍🏼😁
Wow. Great exploration.
You seem unwell due to the weather conditions. Recover soon
Cheers ✨✨
Well you just never know!
Thanks Matthew!
👍👍👍👊😎

I read the Vulcan bombers were kept on standby with the engines running at Filton.

Is it a bunker? No blast doors or anything might just be elecs for the run way?
Think the same maybe not a nuclear one
Big old false widow spider that.
What a great end to the drone footage Matt 🍌
Nice drone footage!!.
What was the soundtrack you used..it sounded very much like the Cure!!
P c iii - Through the storm

Did u go there today ?
What is the VR headset you use for your drone Matt?
sneaky hidden in plain view
Always enjoy your drone footage, great fun explore well done Matt.
Omg, you made me laugh so hard with your vulcan bomber. LOL!
The BAC221 was the rebuilt test plane that was the first plane in the world to exceed 1000mph
The golf course at the start, great place to go and light up a smoke and watch the planes come in, can see the severn bridges too
(I'm a local)
@22:24 that looks like a huge Catherine wheel buried.
I hope you get the opportunity to see inside the bigger one there, but maybe its still in use
We need more TeleTubby hills.

Liked the vlog from Margaret P
that was a ground running bunker for ground tests of concorde and the vulcan test bed
Why is the hill shaped in that artistic way? Not very discrete.
Bristol 221 was a prototype design of what would be Concorde
That would make a pretty sick rave club

Wow... thanks for that. So we found a real secret then.

Chemtrail in the sky 😉
@17:26: I think that is a Cave Spider, but I could be wrong.
looked like a false widow spider ??
Cellar spider yeah or AKA The Death (chocolate) Raisin Spider
Yet another great explore 👌

I've been looking at this spot for a while .
Didn't know what it was until today
From China 😆
👍
☝️♥️🏴☠️
👍🏻
It's an airfield, not an airport.
LegEnd
Could actually see all the fibres in the air. Let's hope that pile of film wasn't under asbestos tiles. ☮️

Take no notice Mr Welsh guy if you read that comment ..19 and a half thousand views tell a different story to this one comment 😉
There’s LOADSA “underground reservoirs” that ….the public aren’t allowed in 🤔🤫🫤
