Secondly, the character "George Benson" is Heikki Silvennoinen, one of the best guitar players in Finland at the time, and a huge blues fan. George Benson is in fact a homage to the music Heikki loved, not intended as a joke at all. But, in today's world, there is no longer room to read deeper underlying intentions. So we must take things at surface value, in good and in bad. I am not saying blackface should not be condemned but the next step is to ask if its ok to parody italian singers? Or a woman play a man and vice versa? I wish people would allow some interpretation in deciding whether something is intentionally malicious or not. This is in general, not just w/r to this.
