I agree with you, it sounds nothing like V6. The S600 in this video does not have the 5.5 twin-turbo 493hp V12 you're mentioning though, it has a 5.8 N/A 367hp V12.
@rcrocker02 this car is 2001, the orginal owner is W220178137(youtube account). arent s600 the ones are 2000 - 2002 are 5.8 V12, the ones without the twin turbo? i know in 2003+ they were 5.5 twin turbocharged
@eddiefakhoury its a 5.5 liter twin-turbo v12, with 493 hp stock and 590 lb ft of torque, which the s55 has the same hp but nowhere near the same torque, however... the s55 is lighter by a decent amount therefore the 0-60 times are quite close. the s600 however offers more luxury features. and trust me no mercedes v6 sounds anything even close to this, go listen to some supercars like the pagoni zonda, murcielago, ferrari 550, all v12's and all sound similar to this.
The V12 Bi-turbo didn't arrive till MY03, and it of course sounds different. Well ok, this car also sounds quite different from OEM with its aftermarket exhaust. For anyone interested, the 01-02 can be had quite cheap as they were quite unreliable in comparison to the 03+ which are still very bad by normal car standards. $1200 a coil pack bad for the 03+.
