Hey Addicted Fishing, I just recently started fishing in my mid 30’s and I just wanted to thank you for such informative and entertaining videos. I live in the city and dont know anyone to learn from, Your tips lead to my very first trout last weekend. Thanks again!
I remember a big sockeye run in Lake Washington 25 years ago there were big money downrigger boats everywhere my dad and I had a little 12 ft aluminum boat with 9 horse Johnson. The night before we made homemade depth riggers using Dixie cups for molds filled with quickcrete and a rubber band. Used a 12 inch flasher 3 ft leader trailing a bare red hook. You hook the rubber band on the triple leader when they hit you set the hook and the rubber band snaps dropping the weight off the line. We barely got out lines out and it was fish on we limited out in less than an hour and had 3 or 4 boats following our troll in the end lol Man that was fun. That run is all but gone now I heard.
New subscriber here. Today I saw an addicted boat on 205 being pulled by a Honda. Would of holla'd but the driver was no one I reckonized from the the channel. Thanks for the vids!
Really cool. Pls do a video for land based fishing for chinook salmon. Here in California that’s all we have. Most people troll and floss. Any lure suggestions that do well ?
Usually 1/0 octopus hook Main line 20# braided or stronger 30# pound is a safe bet in case you hook up with a chinook. I’m sure there are guys that may differ in opinion on this but have never had problems with the info I gave you.
Damian, not even close to the kenai, we are spoiled up here in Alaska. We just set an all time return for sockeye in Bristol Bay, which is saying a lot, it’s the largest sockeye run in the world, we have had 4 1/2 “million sockeye enter the regions rivers! That’s what has entered the rivers, and their still showing up, and that’s not even counting the commercial catch, and we have other regions that have sockeye, plus we get kings, chum, pink and the coho are just now entering our rivers! No place comes close to Alaska!
Great Video! If anyone is looking for a true alaskan experience where you're the only one on the river let me know. I have a couple of rare openings for Sockeye, Silvers, and Kings.
Way to go guys! You got the Columbia shut down for sockeye and steelhead. You guys been too good at catching. 🤪 Just kidding. Kind of.... love your vids. I don’t think I’ve missed any yet. Even the bass ones.
Jaxon, I live in Alaska, been a guide up here for years! You all along the Columbia messed up your salmon fishery years ago! You caught 3 sockeye? I wade rivers in hip boots up here and have had sockeye bump into my leg, they are so thick up here! Keep dreaming of real salmon fishing! Us longtime Alaskans see it daily!!!
Troy Ottosen Yes I understand the fish numbers have gone down a lot , but it is still real fishing and a ton of fun. I have always wanted to go and fish up in Alaska it seems very cool.
@@xplicitfishin , yeah, Mom and I moved to Alaska from Oregon when I was 15! Been up here guiding in places your jealous ass can only dream of! I fish with Kodiak bears daily in places your ignorant ass only watches on vids and tv!!! You jealous punk!!!😂🤪🤣
Sockeye don't generally spawn in the lake they usually spawn in a river above or just below a lake upon spawning smolts migrater from river of birth to theyre rearing lake for a year almost then down river to the sea rinse and repeat every 4 yrs.
LOVE Addicted Fishing, and after years of watching these videos now, this actually inspired me to make my own fishing videos!
I'm such an old guy, but you guys have taught me so much about an unfamiliar fishery to me. Thanks you so much

Was the first boat below Cam on Saturday. Watched his boat catch all the sockeye.
You did a FANTASTIC detailed job of rigging instructions👍👍👍. Going to season & jar some shrimp & follow your hookup technique. Thanks so much!

I’m new to salmon fishing and still have some questions after this video. How thick is the main line on the rod? What size for hooks?
Usually 1/0 octopus hook
Main line 20# braided or stronger 30# pound is a safe bet in case you hook up with a chinook. I’m sure there are guys that may differ in opinion on this but have never had problems with the info I gave you.
How many sockeyes come up that river is it anything like the kenai river in Alaska?

@@xplicitfishin , Oh, forgot been all over Alaska the past 39 years! Still wanna talk shit? Hatchery salmon boy???🤣😳
Pretty sure you can't run this in Oregon as the sinker is below the hooks.
You can definitely run a setup like this
@@kingkelly9104 100%, everyone fishes like like this, one way or another.
When you guys are giving me that fresh water rod ?
never seen something this complicated in my life, were a long way from a worm and hook here

I’m still lost. You sure I can’t get these things on a tide water spinner off the shore🤙🏽
There are other spots on the river fellas.
Why wouldn’t this work in Alaska instead of snagging them?
I thought once they where in the river they where supposed to be red.
The only people giving thumbs down are the ones not catching any fish
#kayakandsurffishing
Nick why do you always were latex gloves
That red ectoplasm stays on anything it touches
First
wait a minute, this isn't animal crossing
What size and types of hooks are those? 🪝
