The Project - Eruga Quintet - Interview

Eruga in Catalan means ‘caterpillar’, an animal that goes through several biological processes.
Eruga Quintet is a group of musicians who met during their Master’s Degree at Codarts Rotterdam. They navigate through the world of classical music, fuse with South American influences, and create original repertoire. Since they started in 2022, they build their repertoire choosing existing repertoire for clarinet quintet, plus own compositions and arrangements.

Eruga in het Catalaans betekent 'rups', een dier dat door verschillende biologische processen gaat.
De musici van het Eruga Quintet ontmoetten elkaar tijdens hun Master opleiding aan Codarts Rotterdam. Ze bewegen zich door de wereld van de klassieke muziek, fuseren met Zuid- Amerikaanse invloeden en creëren origineel repertoire. Sinds hun oprichting in 2022 hebben ze hun repertoire opgebouwd met bestaand repertoire voor klarinetkwintet, eigen composities en arrangementen.
