Until standard account owners generally call them out on Twitter, they won't care. this is because they're investors will see a public outcry and they don't want that. Sending emails to complain will not move them. This is same method they agreed to reinstate many accounts that were banned years ago. Many artists called them out online on Twitter.
It really does seem like they are gouging artists before they go bankrupt. The last tier changes were bad but I still made more after it bc of a few designs taking off. But now there really is no reason to upload anymore unless you are already in the 500 tier or out of standard. You can never catch up. Plus the last change was about 6 mos ago so it will prob happen again. I tried multiple times to get my account moved up, but never got a response for that despite daily sales.

Few reasons for this - they don't want to turn away new artists, artists with zero sales have no profits to snatch, once YOU do the work to get sales they figure you're locked in and then begin taking a bigger cut. The official reasons behind how accounts are tiered is nonsense. I have shops with 5k + sales which got marked as standard, and have new shops with barely 100 sales and they got premium.
I guess that they trying to get rid of the spammers who prefer quantity over quality, I just made my second shop on Redbubble this month which had like 10 really good designs at the beginning all in one niche and it got premium tier without any social media links and my new shop in his specific niche is ranking much higher than my "main" shop which has regular sales. Im not defending RB but it's seams logical to me. I also have bad experience with RB when my previous "new" shop got banned in some automatic algorithm when I uploaded three designs with "copy design" button and all designs were same size and similar theme (but different images anyway), firstly I thought that they will unban me after sanding form that it was ban by mistake (because I clearly didn't violate any rules, If "copy design" button is not allowed why it exist then, right?) and that shop had like 50 designs overall so can three similar designs be considered as spam if RB allows 30 uploads per day? but they reviewed my form and kept the ban. 16 dollars had there or even less since it was standard tier.
yes, they say don't try start new acc and all related accounts to this will be banned, but fortunately they don't dig that deep or just trying to scare away the potential rules breakers with such template message, so my old account was untouched and new acc with another email was started without problem @@HaseebAhmed-eq6xp
until Q4 comes around again and its gonna be demoted to standard tier and you can pay 70% of your earnings in fees. It happened to way too many people this past Q4. They aren't spammers, they are legit artist.
