I’m a professional faux painter and I notice you are not showing how to do corners and tops of walls with these treatments. It’s very easy to do the main open parts of walls. Doing corners and making it look perfect like wallpaper takes skill. So bummer that you didn’t show how to do it.

I got through this video this morning in the time that I have a long vacation at home :)) and decided to redecor my room. This 5min craft felt so touching and got me think so much. I was a perfectionist (and somehow still am) who always insists things go this or that way as a fckng must to be satisfied. It caused so much frustration but was hard to give up. Seeing this person (or these people 😝) just be playful with whatever texture and materials they found and ended up creating awesome wall felt so inspiring and moving... like, it was soooo long that i haven't been playful this way.

Some of these ideas are very inventive and look great. For now. Jump ahead five years when its time to re-decorate and all those textures will be near impossible to remove.

I was doing a bunch of these textured wall treatments in the 80s. I guess they're back lol
3 /16 th drywall is great for these techniques so when you want to change it just pull off the artwork and voila there is your original wall safe and sound. At least in theory

oh my!! I feel I just went back in time 25 to 35 years. There were a few cool ideas, but you'd lose money on your house if you're trying to sell it with these wall treatments. I think I'm going to perm and bleach my hair, slip on a wicked cool spandex dress, and rock out to some Billy Idol. I'm not worthy!!!

But what they dont mention about all the neat paint tricks is that you'll never be able to paint over it without sanding down the walls because of the texture and globs of paint

They get right to the point and show the audience instead of wasting time with unnecessary over explaining. The music is nice too.
Some of these designs look like the 70s just threw up on your house! Agree with the comments below they won't work near a ceiling and skirting board. Maybe useful for a piece of art for a wall though. I only watch these videos for fun as they say hacks when really there is a simpler way to do most of their stuff

The textured walls (I believe it's a type of plaster) is a HUGE mistake. Firstly, it looks straight out of the 70s; second, you won't be able to remove it unless it's sanded or you must replace the drywall; thirdly, it's hideous, similar to the "popcorn" ceiling look. Ugh !!!

There is a reason they never show the whole wall ~ because these "techniques" are not sustainable, meaning it is only possible to make a small portion look uniform. Ask me how I know....

In a few of them you can see the top of the wall where they changed the latter by rolling sideways (aka it doesn’t stay uniform all the way up. The sock roll one for example, watch closely at the top of the wall.
What is the colored plaster you spread on the walls with the trowel? That’s really a neat product!
