I finally got to the end of this video, and please thank Joe - and you - for discussing the supposed fragility of your body. I had similar worries/fears with my wife too. A lil different for CP vs SCI, as it is more about stiffness of parts of her body, but certainly the same fear of popping a shoulder/elbow/wrist out of joint, and worrying about how her arm was placed. I love my wife, and it’s been 42 wonderful years of marriage. Thanks Brittney and Joe!
Just stumbled across this video and I am so impressed with you both and appreciate all the openness that you share. You guys are the real deal!❤ I've been married for 26 years and I have a mental illness. My husband is my biggest fan 💓 it doesn't matter what our obstacles are, if someone really loves YOU, you can get through anything together! Mental or physical❤
1 my first time watching. Like your honesty about your inter-abled life. We face challenges all our life. I am dealing with aging and I complain loudly. Then I remember how precious the gift of life is. There is always joy to be found in each day.

I love this video because I can relate to so much of it! Congratulations on your anniversary! My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last August. We had dated for almost four years when I was injured racing motocross in June of 1995. She supported and encouraged me during my recovery and never once thought of leaving me. She is a true blessing! If we ever had an opportunity to meet you and your husband, I'm sure we would have some fantastic stpries to share!

When I searched on YT, this video came up as one of the results. I'm glad I decided to click itl^^ Appreciate both of you guys being open and candid (as much as you could legally^^) Congrats on your 10-year anniversary!
I saw one of your other videos and wondered how you were travelling through life. I am delighted to see how complete your life is, a beautiful part of a loving family. Every one has ups and down, your 'down' was far deeper than most people's, but your personality won. No wonder, your husband is a lucky man, and knows the fact. Most people have lucky breaks and bad breaks, I was lucky my spinal issues were treated in time allowing me to walk unaided again; my wife's cancers were twice treated in time, the third time not so lucky, but we had nearly 48 years of married life. With your attitude, personality, and energy, you look set for a bright future together. People often dwell on what I shall politely term the 'biological consequences' of eating and living, they should remember those consequences are part of being alive and deal with the matter. You eloquently showed how perfectly you accepted the need for solutions, preventing needs from being a problem. Live life to the full, seek out, and employ solutions to avoid problems, the alternative is worse.
They both bring love and joy and respect too the table , regardless of disability isn’t that the point , foot note , I’ve been married to my darling for 31 years , I had a traumatic brain injury 8 years ago and I now have cancer , but my darling girl still loves me the same even if I’m not as fit as before , that’s love ❤, that’s marriage 😊
I never understood the part (21:40) where Joe says you are so much more independent now than when you met, until I watched your “A look back on 2023 and a history of my most important milestones” video. Because I didn’t realize that gaining all those skills took you many years. I’m not sure why I thought you had mastered all those skills and the resultant independence so soon after your injury. I guess just how you present yourself on your videos. Now it has all come together in so many ways. I like how, over time, you fill in the blanks for me/us.
I just found your channel... have to say you are a great couple and I LOVE your hubby... what a real guy! I'm a subscriber now... look forward to your downloads!
I have been atracted to disabled women since i was a boy specifically paraplegic women i have dated a few but it is the true desire of my heart to marry a beautiful woman who is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair ❤
You only need to look at how she looks at him to know that she loves her husband very much. Intimacy is something she will enjoy simply because she is being loved by the man she loves.
Ok Thanks for the answer , I worked out in Alberta for a few years, I know the Area you are from, I live in the Province of New Brunswick, You found yourself a good man

What's this inter abled mean ? They love each other, simple. She can't walk, my Mrs can't cook or clean or mow lawns or fix the car but I love her dearly.
So cute! Congratulations on 10 years and many more to come. Yes I did watch all the way through...your so real and honest how could you not watch it all.

What a great video. I suffered a SCI 54 years ago as a young child. You have described almost exactly what my wife (who is able-bodied) went through as we established a relationship and ultimately married. Even little comments like keeping the house warm and the Toyota Sienna SE being a vehicle of choice.
I loved this video! Y’all are so cute together!!! Loved hearing about how y’all met and the struggles of getting to know one another. #1 for making it all of the way through! Much love from Oklahoma, USA 💗💗💗

@@EmpoweredPara I can imagine that it was scary. People are usually very private about bathroom stuff and are taught to not talk about it, that all goes out the window though when you have to cath and do your bowel program. Great video as usual. I love her attitude, openess, and confidence. In response to a wheelchair being an issue in deciding to start a relationship, I can see that it's something that both people would have to discuss as you both said. But when you think about it, or when I think about it, your not dating the chair, your dating the person in the chair. If you have feelings or love that person the chair should not matter. What if the injury occurred after marriage. I would hope the other person wouldn't leave because of the chair. And as we get older we are all going to have some condition that will require our spouse to help out. That's just part of aging being married. Hope this makes sense.
Makes complete sense! I think you're right, the chair shouldn't be a factor. The difference with dating and marriage is that if the injury happens after you're married you have already made those vows. With dating the person gets to decide if they want to make the vows. I would hope that the wheelchair wouldn't scare someone away but in reality it does. luckily there are good people out there that don't get scared away.
What an amazing couple,so open and both so lovable,, although you may not know it but you bounce of each other almost comically,,, just keep on doing what you do together and in life 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧regards and respect John 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧UK
I don’t think you should say “people in wheelchairs” have to do the bathroom stuff, implying that everyone in wheelchairs have to do this. I’m in a wheelchair and I don’t use a catheter and I take a crap normally. I think it gives people the wrong impression. Maybe say people who have SCI or are paralyzed. Thanks. Love your relationship by the way!
It's interesting how healthy you look and how mentally strong you are compared to what we see in today's society if you just look around in a sea of people. Joe fell in love with your personality and took your disability as just something that comes with you.....
Great video...I think this is the second time I'm watching it. I have a couple of questions about the show 'PUSH' though. I know the lettres are an acronym...and the 'S' stands for Spina Bifida...which I also have (God I'm so lucky--2 spinal cord injuries AND Spina Bifida--no wonder I can be witchy...lol). Anyway, if 'S' stands for Spina Bifida...why is everyone on the show with a Spinal Cord Injury...or at least it seems that way? Hmmm...I said a couple of questions...I forget the other one off hand. Anyway, I also wanted to point out Washington state also gets Canadian shows on their regular networks. If there's anyone in Washington state that feels I'm wrong...please correct me. Anyway, I was in Bellingham and CBC was actually a network (not on cable either...at least not that I know of). 24:24...your daughter's hysterical. You know, I kept my bowel program from my fiance for years...he just isn't handling the second one well. The first one...I could do tonnes more. Now...not so much. But I'm independent as heck. I think he feels a wee bit responsible for my broken leg...but Larry if you're reading this...YOU WEREN'T. Anyway, like you were saying if you think something was devastating...of course your other half is going to be way freaked out.
you guys are great and I hope more people follow their heart as you two have. I have cp and lived with my parents until I was 47. I met a girl through a friend that was also handicapped due to an auto accident. She got me on my own after a few, "dates." Unfortunately, she lost her legs from lymphedema . Gradually she required more assistance and I just jumped right in. My parents thought I was crazy but if it wasn't for her, I would have ended up in a group home or something. she taught me a lot.
Did it take Joe a long time to ask, and did it take you a long time to explain, facets of your disability? In our case, I was very reluctant to ask my future wife any questions about her disability. I didn’t want to be intrusive or cause her, what I thought at that time, any embarrassment or uneasiness. It wasn’t til we were on our way to my parent’s house for the introductory first dinner that I even asked anything. Then she told me she had Cerebral Palsy. Other info took more time. Whoops, and did either of you worry about his parents not liking you? I worried about that, but luckily they loved my wife right from the start!
Love this video because of it I’m a new sub..it made me think of the time I went away with a lady friend and her son who was asking me questions due to my disability being in a wheelchair and cathing through my stomach he asked if I had penis and it cracked me up…
I thought the thing that draws us in and keeps us subscribers coming back to watch every video was your expressive eyes, but I think that it is also how animated you are when you are describing things. You are unique!
Looking at my own situation and experiences, worrying about what to do 30-40 years down the road is useless. You can both start out perfectly healthy and “able” but, as we all know, excrement occurs and before you know it one of you is in special circumstances. A friend of mine who is not very healthy to begin with, fell down some stairs, shattered her knee and has had her leg amputated above the knee. Her husband is a really great guy who loves her to bits and he now has a lot to deal with but love conquers all (more or less).
I'm 63 and would never have had a problem with a girl with this disability. If I'd loved them, that's all that would have mattered. I've been with able bodied women that have grossed me out with their ways. I've been married but have never found true love. I feel really sad about it. I'm alone now and doubt I'll ever find it now. You two clearly love each other. That's wonderful x. I watched the whole episode too.
I know this video is a year old, but I just found your channel and have been watching a ton of your videos. I really appreciate how open and honest you are. I was born with Spina Bifida. I am 36 and married now, but went through some of the same things you talk about in many of your videos(I get out of bed at night to pee though haha). Thank you for your channel, and keep oversharing to strangers asking if you can have sex. It's the number one question I get as well. It amazes me that people have the gall to ask that, especially when they first meet me. Take care!
Very frank and honest discussion, other interabled leave out issues like sensation down below. It's the intimacy that counts to a woman, and that's heaps and unaffected.
Awesome guy, respect bro.. same like my wife.. be blessed 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻, only last year I compete bodybuilding and kick-boxing and this year I’m incomplete spine injury and can’t walk anymore, I was her hero and now she helps me as a hero, but real love win, so I wil her ask her to marry, and you’re are a hero for me, but your women is beautiful, smart and funny so I had see the chair anyway to… we had al our issues..
Hard to be so physically active and then get a spinal cord injury! Keep up the body building though! You can show other wheelchair users that you can still hit the gym!
The farting thing had me laughing so hard! That was great! The second or third time my girlfriend spent the night with me(8 years together now), I tried making browned butter with garlic. I didn't get the garlic cooked enough, and as a result we both had the most tremendous garlic gas. Wake up in the middle of the night to pee and the bedroom smelled of garlic farts. We laugh about it now, but it was a really good way to break the ice on that particular subject. Bodies are bodies, they all have bodily functions.
My situation is no where near as challenging as yours, but I do need to use a wheelchair infrequently, for 2-4 weeks, after I have a seizure. The seizures started when we were renting a two-story home, so when we bought a house, we bought a single level home with this in mind. It never registered with either of us that the bathroom door is a good bit narrower than all of the other interior doors, so I wind up still using a bedside pot anyway. ETA I have other medical issues, so my husband has seen some things no man should see. It rolls right off his back. Then we both battled cancer at the same time (surgeries, chemo, etc.) then all bets are off. Now I can’t imagine anything left between us that would be embarrassing or gross. I’m NOT implying that Britney said otherwise, but just FYI for everyone, many medical issues bring with them some very intimate and awkward moments. In a good relationship, they quickly become no big deal.
Wow you're relationship has been tested! I totally agree that it's medical issues that call for the most intimate situations! Bravo to you for sticking together and becoming stronger as a couple through all your challenges 👏
I am in a wheelchair, not a SCI, but neuromuscular ( so I can use the washroom on my own and orgasm ) , but everyone assumes its a spinal cord injury and when I am on POF so many men ask me that like Right away " can you cum, can u feel sex?" like WTF..lol..
I'm a new subscriber anf have watched the whole thimg and am curious about your experience of giving birth...you take your disability with admirable courage and cheerfulness and I feel I should be much more grateful for my life than I am , from now on

Great job! When I proposed to my wife, I did it from my wheelchair. After she said 'yes' I smiled and said "I hope you know what you're getting into." 🤣🤣🤣

You two are outstanding! This is the best part of the internet, people like you sharing your stories!
Love this video because of it I’m a new sub..it made me think of the time I went away with a lady friend and her son who was asking me questions due to my disability being in a wheelchair and cathing through my stomach he asked if I had penis and it cracked me up…
omg lol. That's hilarious. I love that story. Kids say the funniest things sometimes haha. Glad to have you as a subscriber!!

He feels OK farting around you. Draw the line at him telling you to pull his finger?
Take care!
I'm kinda thankful that people are dumb and brave lol. I've had lots of interesting conversations that way haha
🇨🇦❤️🎉😎
1. Love you both.😊
Thanks! Love that you love us!
Very frank and honest discussion, other interabled leave out issues like sensation down below. It's the intimacy that counts to a woman, and that's heaps and unaffected.
we don't leave out much lol
I watched it all , Would be interesting to know how you become paralized
I was paralyzed in a snowmobile accident when I was 13.
I watched the whole thing every word y'all said every word y'all said and I'm very happy to watch it I now know you and your husband a lot better cool
I eat garlic almost everyday to prevent uti's so I think we have all become nose blind to my garlic farts haha!
@@EmpoweredPara Haha that's funny too! Thank you for being so open and forthright about so many things.
@om617yota8 lol my pleasure!
I am in a wheelchair, not a SCI, but neuromuscular ( so I can use the washroom on my own and orgasm ) , but everyone assumes its a spinal cord injury and when I am on POF so many men ask me that like Right away " can you cum, can u feel sex?" like WTF..lol..
yeah I know lol. So interesting that people just jump into that!
I loveeeeed that
So honest and open conversation
Was fascinated by this😍
Thanks! You are a great example of a beautiful family making it work with a disability!
I'm a new subscriber anf have watched the whole thimg and am curious about your experience of giving birth...you take your disability with admirable courage and cheerfulness and I feel I should be much more grateful for my life than I am , from now on
I had c sections with my kids and they were both not super great. But I got kids out of it so lol

Always honest lol, not always adorable!
Great job! When I proposed to my wife, I did it from my wheelchair. After she said 'yes' I smiled and said "I hope you know what you're getting into." 🤣🤣🤣
Well she must have known! You're still together!
