In this special edition of Jaywalking, we head to Muscle Beach to look at the house Jay lived at for a month when he was 19 years old. He recounts stories of Ed Connors inviting him to stay in California, train at Golds Gym to learn from the bodybuilding Stars and enjoy the Californian beach lifestyle. With all his achievements and he remains as humble as can be. You can tell a lot about someone in their approachability when they're engaged in something and still allow the time for a fan to take a pic with them. Also remarkable is the gentleness he demonstrates with the delicate little dog and his appreciation for the warm sunset's beauty. A complete human being.
Body builders are nice people at my Gym but the Cross Fit crowd are Aholes.

@@aphysique it's true. I can never look at him the same ever again after meeting him in Vegas. I met him after they brought back the old reruns of him as the hulk. As I was talking to him he kept looking at my hands to see if I was holding money in them to give to him.

I lived in Venice Beach at 18 years old, that was back in 1988... Was living on Westminster Avenue, 1 block from the beach: such great times!
