    If cancer happens when your body is overloaded with toxins, to the point your liver is utterly overwhelmed, then it stands to reason that toxic stuff causes cancer. If I had to guess, I'd say that tag is because of the highly toxic contact cement which is used throughout the boot. I'm not sure if it's still toxic to the touch once all the solvents evaporate, but I'm sure the guys working at these boot factories are going to suffer a lot of health consequences for being around that glue so much, but they'll never associate their health problems to the glue, because it isn't acute. I've made a few pairs of boots, and that glue is seriously wicked. It could also be the outsole, because that vibram rubber is definitely off-gassing some toxic stuff. I've bought brand new vibram soles and they have a coat of some kind of oil on the back, and they stink bad. I leave them in the garage till I'm ready, otherwise they'll stink up a whole room. It's like walking into a recreational vehicle dealer, all those tires off-gassing.

      You’re right it’s the glue. I called Whites about it and they said it’s the glue while it’s still in it’s liquid form, and by the time the boots are made the glue has already solidified. That prop is just for CA also, which no other state requires such a label to my knowledge. I’ve purchased these same non hand stitchdowned pair of 350 Cutters and remember they wreaked of glue. The mp boots don’t smell of glue as bad and don’t use the same Vibram outsole.

    I have a pair of 350 Cutters in Distressed Roughout that I picked up this time of year in 2020. They also only have two speed hooks, which negatively affects how I lace them up. I like my heel to be locked in place, and I find it is a bit harder with the extra spacing between the hook. My “6-inch” 350 Cutters are also the same height at my 5-inch Semi-Dress boots, and shorter than both my 6-inch White’s Bountyhunters and Nick’s Robert’s boots.
    I like White’s the best for two reasons: their heel is a bit less extreme than my Nick’s, and I feel my White’s boots have arches that better fill my foot compared to my Nick’s.

    • @EDHBlvd
      @EDHBlvd  8 месяцев назад +2

      Ya the missing speed hook is kinda SUS. I think this is a poor cost cutting move by Whites.
      You can order custom Nicks with a moderate heel. It ends up the same height as these Whites.

    So I remember talking to you about whites sizing, I started going true to my brannock size (10.5D) in the 55 last and it seems to be a perfect fit. Easy to fill up volume in the boot with thicker socks. I can go a half size down and be fine as well but true to size works better (especially with cap toe boots). My arch length is longer so if I do a half size down with cap toe boots the cap toe digs into my toes and doesn't flex at the correct spots.

    • @EDHBlvd
      @EDHBlvd  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ya the 55 did not work for me sizing down at least with D width. What I find interesting is many tell me I should have used my ball length, but none of the PNW brands look at ball length on their fit sheets. They only look at length and foot circumference for volume.

    • @Justin-pu7qi
      @Justin-pu7qi 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@EDHBlvd I started sizing for ball length which is an 11D for me so I go down a half size from that which lands me at my true to brannock size (10.5D). More people need to know about that for fit I feel like but its not talked about enough.

    Those boots look great. Thank you for posting your videos. I always look forward to them.
    I was looking at getting the 350 Cruiser. I worry about getting the 350 cutter being a lace to toe. I have wide feet. I’m a 10.5 FF in Whites. I have the Longliner boot in that 10.5 FF and they feel great. But, that is the 4811 last.
    My only issue with the 350 boot is that it is only 6in height. I just like a taller boot.
    So, I have been looking at getting the C356 logger (7in height) or the Stockman (8in height) boot. I’m leaning toward the Stockman boot in black. I’m looking for a black boot to wear with black dress pants. But I’m not too much of a fan of the packer heal.
    Also, have not tried the 55 last, so I’m wondering how comparable it is to the 4811 last. The website says, “55 rivals the 4811”. So I think it will be ok.
    What are your thoughts? I value your opinion. Thanks.

    • @EDHBlvd
      @EDHBlvd  8 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately I’ve never tried the 4811 but I want to. I will say the 55 definitely runs a little smaller than the 11067. I’m very happy with 11E in the 67, but 11D in 55 was too small (too short and narrow). This 55 in 11.5D fits similar to the 67 in 11E.

  • @brandonrogers4415
    @brandonrogers4415 5 месяцев назад +1

    So I’m quite confused with the 55 last… went a half size down from brannock which is also what fits with the hnw last… however it’s just a bit short and pinches/rubs my smallest toes. Do you recommend going a half size down from brannock and up a width or stay true to brannock width and length?

    • @EDHBlvd
      @EDHBlvd  5 месяцев назад

      So I went down 1/2 in length and up a width in the HNW and it was too short and toe box too tight. In the 55 I tried going down 1/2 in length and keeping same width and it was overall a little small. I ended up selling those pairs and trying TTS. It fits but kind of feels a little long. I think I’d be best in the 55 doing the same as I have in the 67, going down 1/2 in length and up a width.

    Hey how do these fit when laced up? Is the space between the laces touching? I’m curious because I have kind of a low instep and kind of skinny ankles and when I wear certain boots like the Alden Indy my laces were almost touching and I hate how that looks you know? But other boots like redwing iron ranger and redwing moc toe I get about 2 finger’s width in between them. But I want to get the c350 cutter Ltt but not sure if the laces will be to close together you know?

    • @EDHBlvd
      @EDHBlvd  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Richardo, I just posted a pic of them in the Communities tab. I have similar experience where most of my boots in heritage space have 2 fingers spacing (IR might be more like 1.5 fingers). I think the Alden Indy is designed for the smaller face spacing. I have just about 1 finger when mine are laced up. I have mine TTS and like the fit.

    • @EDHBlvd
      @EDHBlvd  2 месяца назад

      I don’t think saying you are a size in a brand is meaningful. It’s really all about the specific Lasts. For example with Nicks, I fit an 11E 11067 Last, but the HNW in 11E was awful and I had to sell them. Their recommendation of same size across all their Lasts doesn’t make any sense to me.
      I fit an 11E in the 11067 and ThurmanNW. I’m still trying to figure out if my 11E Thurman55 is a great fit or only ok.
      With Whites the 55 was too small in 11D (sold all my pairs in that size). I have a pair in 11.5D and it fits well. I wonder if 11E would be superior but don’t own any 55’s in that size.
      My ball circumference is about 10 3/8”. Thought my right foot is actually more like 10 1/4”. This is with my preferred thinner socks.
      Btw I’ve found my 11EE Nicks 67’s with a leather insert fit about the same as my 11E 67’s without an insert.
