Wow bill amazing. 100%❤. Taking us round our holiday early ( 4 months away 🤞🤞🙏🏼🙏🏼) top quality my freind. The then and now’s amazing. And a lovely walk. My granddaughter wants to find the huts. But possibly finished by August 🤷🏼♂️. However thank you for the trip to Dawlish. So glad I found your channel all them months ago by accident I must add. Really loved the footage. God bless and thanks bill 👍👍👍
Aww thanks Barry - So Glad you enjoyed it 👍 If by the 'Huts' you mean the Ditto Trail, I'm sure it will still be going - Too much effort invested to drop it so fast 👍👍👍 dittosofdawlish.com/ 👍👍👍
Oh Bill what can I say except thank you so so much for the fabulous video and weather couldn't of been better . Fabulous then and now's and it sounds as if you have some lovely memories of Dawlish too . Yes aren't our beautiful swans and cygnets looking good ❤fabulous then and now's once again thank you so much Bill 😊stay safe ill see you tomorrow oh yes lovely rude along the sea wall ❤😊xx
OMG Bill that was just wonderful you have made me feel really home sick for our favourite area coincidentally we were just looking at homes to let in your area to make a permanent move as soon as possible. Gays creamery is a must visit place when we are there so much yummy food to choose from. I loved the big church I've not seen that before so looking forward to the video about it. Keep up the great work absolutely love it x
Thanks Ann - Glad you enjoyed it - A different walk for sure 👍 If you want a recommendation for an agent in the area, then its 'Dart & Partners' - Done a LOT of business with them in the past, & they have always been upfront & honest in all the dealings - Unlike some places 😉 👍👍👍
Excellent video Bill .. loved the “Dawlish Doubles” … walked there from Dawlish Warren last Saturday .. was lovely seeing the black swans and their cygnets… had a smashing ice cream with clotted cream whilst waiting for the 22 bus back to Dawlish Warren (Bus driver kindly let us off at the top of the hill .. so just a short walk back into Golden Sands Caravan Park)
Very enjoyable Bill, thanks for putting all that work in. Certainly some interesting streets around the back of Dawlish and of course those majestic black swans on the river with those gorgeous cygnets. The 'Dawlish Dittos' sounds fun and we have printed off a copy from your video just in case we can't find a copy easily when we come down - not sure we'd spot them all but at least follow the trail. See you tomorrow😺.
You're very welcome Trev - I enjoyed doing it 👍 Yes, the Ditto Trail is fun, and will still be in place when you arrive down - Check out the official website for details: dittosofdawlish.com/ 👍👍👍
Hi Bill, absolutely brilliant mate! Thanks for showing The Swan pub, I remember my dad taking me and mum there whilst on holidays at Dawlish Warren as a kid, it was the only pub nearby to sell proper cider on tap. Lovely to see the cygnets doing so well now. I suppose the Dawlish Water has become "silted up" cafter the flooding last year. See you tomorrow mate.
Hi Rob - No Worries, glad you enjoyed it 👍 I had heard that brook needed something doing to it, relating to silt build up, but I was genuinely surprised at quite how bad it had got!!! 👍👍👍
In all the years we've been coming to Dawlish, we had never been round the old part Bill. Thank you for showing it. A truly interesting video. Take care 🎉
Hi Bill, very interesting walk and my mum was able to join in on this one. ( showed her the video on my phone) . She really loved it. Thankyou for sharing. 😊
Brilliant mate , you did Dawlish proud , my uncle’s old shop used to be in old town street” Davies “ he sold a bit of everything , even fruit and vegetables, legendary for his boot laces ( sweets) I’m glad you highlighted the Brook, it really needs dredging, apparently TDC are responsible for it I’ll send you some pics of the town for when you come over again, including one with a flood and my brother winning the carnival costume in the 50s Andy
yay dawlish i loved the long view my fav now and then was the one at piermont place coz it looks so different back then no traffic or lights and maybe no toilets back then. in 8 weeks ill be there in dawlish lol. i shall look forward to your next dawlish visit
Wow a big wheel in Dawlish, who knew! SMEG I always thought they got the name from Red Dwarf lol. Wow not much has changed on number 4. Thoes were the days when beating your friend on a video game was taking it in turns, you don't get that anymore.
No idea, but the 'Spooky House' is my name for it, as I used to think it was haunted as a child! Bit of genuine history though - in 1828 in that location, was Dawlish Bath House - Demolished in 1895, the current 'Spooky House' was built, and was originally a' Gentlemen's Club'! 👍👍👍
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth It seemed a bit spooky a few years back when we stayed there for a week once, It was getting a bit run down then, Sad to see a nice building so run down, Someone will have to have deep pockets to do it back up, Sad if they pull it down,

Hi Bill, Like the video What's the story about the Spooky House at Dawlish, How did it get its name. John.
