    Can you do a video on counting to 100+ in years of age? For example stating the age of an old creature like a turtle. “This dates back to the year of” for artifacts and historical times?

      It does.
      If you say, "I'm 20 years old" にじゅうさいです。”
      If you say, ”I'm 21 years old" にじゅういっさいです。”
      Same for 1 year old, i hear people say informally "いっさいです。”
      and for 8 years old, they sometimes say "はっさいです。”

      Why not add Japanese querty to your keyboard. Then simply hit the world symbol (which will appear to left of your space bar) and instantly change to it from English. It would convert what you wrote in English to Hirigana as you write. Then one touch on world to hop back to English.

    So saying 21 would be "ni juu i ssa i desu", how would you say 20 or maybe 22, would it be, for 20, "ni juu sai desu"? or, for 22, "ni juu ni ssa i desu"?

    • @artayick
      @artayick 4 года назад +7

      20 in Japanese, as it relates to age, is actually hatachi. It is special because that is the legal age to drink/smoke etc. To add some fun to this... 1, in relation to age is issai but the rest of the numbers are only sai. So: 20 = hatachi 21= ni juu issai and 22 = ni juu ni sai

    優子先生、(sorry if I have the wrong kanji)
    I thought「いくつですか?」meant "How many are there?". At least that's what Japanese From Zero 1 taught me in Lesson 11. 説明下さいまして、ありがとうございます。 - マリオスター13くん
