I think the image is transferred to the bottom of his foot from whatever is in the marker. While Teller is putting the coins in the putty, he goes over and "prepares" the canvas. He puts the canvas up on the table. But why wasn't it in place to begin with? I think in that time, he looks down, raises the foot enough for a mirror under the foot to reflect the image from the bottom of his shoe, perhaps to another mirror that he can easily see. (Practice makes perfect!) Now, it doesn't matter how blindfolded he is. He has the answer.

I noticed that, the same volunteer appeared in the video on Ondrej's third appearance. I don't believe the volunteers name was mentioned in that video so based on what you're saying he appeared more than just twice. I can't chalk that up to coincidence. I think it's doubly weird because this is a show based on noticing the little things, so why would the producers make such a blatant mistake? That makes the show lose a lot of credibility in my eyes, however I do still find it entertaining nonetheless.

@@lbookstaff123 this is tv. Most of the season is shot within a few days and almost always feature the same audience members. This is so editors can chop it up in the best way to make money. Producers play a large role in who gets "randomly picked" most of the time it isn't random at all. Most of the time tricks aren't done in one take either. Some tricks have multiple resets to get the shot right. You have to remember this isn't just some YT video, this goes on national television, and there's a lot going on behind the audience. Rarely are audience members actually selected randomly and you can see the same ones across multiple seasons because of how they edit down the episodes.

He has a thin metal shim in the business card and uses it with a magnet in his shoe, lifting it up with his foot and casting the drawing's reflection onto the chrome mirror finish on the toe box of his other shoe. That's why he kicks it so hard toward Penn to have him step on it, because he has to kick it that hard to get the magnet to release the card. Crumpling the card was still easy because the metal used was about as thick and flexible as a piece of aluminum foil. The hood was also switched so he could see the spectator when he was creating the painting. Nice routine, but far from something that could even come close to fooling Penn & Teller.

First of all he was wearing those glasses to be able to see what the pen (and Penn) were drawing. It transmitted the image to the lenses. Secondly, you can see him switch out the hood at 3:29 then when the guy goes to help him take off the hood, you can literally see him first move the sleeping mask back over. At 6:28 he still has the original hood on the table under the canvas and the see thru hood that he switched out over on the left side of the table. So he knew what to draw and could see the canvas to draw it on.

Pierre, I'm a performer too and just wanted to say a few things. Some of this is feedback which I hope is not out of place:
    1. What a great energy you have, so clear and open in the way you present. No bs, presented with momentum yet relaxed.
    2. Great trick! Really fooled me and I have decades of study in magic!
    3. I'm a little shocked by how Penn's supposed 'code' exposed the method so blatantly! What happened to being cryptic? So many ways that he could have said 'You're the sole performer using this method' or ''I was stomping my feet trying to work it out' etc.
    4. What was the significance of the little turn and jacket gesture at 1:17? It looked like it should mean something as you said 'or with the mind'... did I miss something?
    5. I realise the glasses are important but, as a performer myself, I think they lower the audience connection with you. Your otherwise friendly demeanour seems a little harsher with those... in fact you look like Leon the assassin!
    6. I'm in the UK and just fyi, a British audience would expect a few 'please' and 'thank yous' with your instructions. Living in Australia has made you a little direct mate haha!
I hope this is helpful, it comes from a friendly place, so it's intended as respectful. I'd pay to see you Pierre, you've got a style that is the absolute opposite of cheesy! In fact, your style is cool, modern and very likeable. Hope you go far!
