Take a “lower body-bath" is a Korean figure of speech that means they are just friends and is used a lot on Korean TV, including Amazing Saturday, where he works with Taeyeon. And he said the same thing about Park Narae some time ago and no one had anything to say because there were no rabid fans ready to misunderstand and attack anyone who names their idol, but normal Koreans with functioning brains.
I also want to point out that I noticed that the translation is inaccurate, he said that he could do a lower body-bath with Taeyeon, he never said that he did or would like to do it, he just used a figure of speech. And evidently the Koreans who saw the video didn't misunderstand as it currently has over 12,000 likes and less than 200 dislikes despite certain clickbait articles.
@@sky4900agree with you! My respect for him grew more when I watched him helping Narae get to the ladies toilet when she was injured! He's is the type of friend that can also help you bath when you're injured and unable to do so. Taeyeon and Narae are for sure grateful to have Kibum as that male friend in their life.

A man is a human being like a woman, he has a thinking brain and it is absurd to believe that he can be rational in anything but his relationship with women. Key basically stated that Taeyeon can be comfortable with him even in the most intimate moments, and that's a very nice thing, it's not something to criticize. It's actually mainly thanks to Jonghyun and Shinee that idols from different companies collaborate and write music themselves cause before them it wasn't something that was really done. Shinee met IU through Jonghyun, but also through just being in the same industry.

I agree with taemin. Lost way too many good friends bc they end up catching feelings. What key and taeyeon have is something rare.
A lot of people think Key is gay that's why people never thought they were dating.
Maby that's why he says that too. He also has experienced female friends ending up falling for him. Or him falling for his female friends. So he concluded that male and female cannot be friends.
This conversation was the BESTEST "what if" I have ever seen with idols. Hands down. And each member of SHINee is answering based on their personalities, their past experiences and where they place limits. Which is why it's so fascinating.
Taemin: (my husband, btw.) From the beginning he is emphatic the girl has ulterior motives and later thinks so does the guy. Taemin is a deeply feeling person who doesn't mess around with others' feelings, so he thinks any relationship is doomed if it comes out of a mutual friend's breakup. He wants no part of it. And if that were the case I would agree...but I think he's too black and white about it. I don't think the song states the girl is doing anything other than wanting to cry on a friend's shoulder. So it might be inadvisable and a bit harsh to assume the girl is up to no good..
Key: Key doesn't necessarily disagree with Taemin, but I think he is giving the situation, and the girl, the benefit of the doubt. As opposed to Taemin, he would rather assume the girl just needs to talk to a friend. And he wouldn't assume she has ulterior motives that would create chaos in the friend's circle later. His bringing up his own close friendship with Taeyeon is a good example, though the taking half baths with her may have been (*cough) tmi for this what if discussion.
Minho: He is a really fair-minded and quite chivalrous dude. He doesn't ignore the possible red flags Taemin points out, but he wouldn't make any assumptions either. And his thought that the guy in the song should confess his love, due to timing, is kind of romantic and sweet. A bit rash, but then we're talking about, Minho here. He seizes the day. If this were a true life situation, though, and he were the guy? I guarantee he would not confess his feelings till much later, since breakups can be messy and you don't want to hurt or be hurt by stepping in too soon. As to that "can we go on to the next topic"? I saw that totally as a rational and common sense retreat. The three weren't going to agree and best to move on....

Taemin is not entirely wrong tho most of the love stories start with friendship. It's easy to fall for a friend who shares deep emotional understanding & special connect with you.(these r my thoughts based on my experience, I'm not expecting anyone to agree)
Note - When it comes to relationships feelings, experiences, preferences & thought process vary from person to person,so there is no set rule which can be applicable to everyone. So rather then getting into arguments about what's right, what's wrong, let's just respect each others opinions & give everyone the freedom to choose how & with whom they want to fall in love.🙏
Half of my close friends are male, I've had several romantic and/or sexual relationships with men, NEVER from my friend group. It depends on what kind of person you are and how you view the sex you're attracted to.
Maybe that depends on the people around you? I also always heard this growing up so I led my whole life hoping for that kind of situation - seems perfect to fall in love with a person where there's already fun and friendship. Except I'm now nearly 40 and it's not manifested. And looking around I realised almost every couple I know actually met on dates (and nowadays on apps), not as friendship.
It can only happen if you have that level of connection with that friend, it's not like you can fall for all of your friends. It's also a 2way process that person has to feel the same way. Even if you meet someone through app or whatever I feel like you have to develop a certain level of friendship with that person inorder to reach that comfort level where you can actually start dating.
I mean it's possible, but typically at least one side is attracted to the other when they become friends. It's not like they become friends then develop feelings. And I don't think it happens as often as people like to believe.
Stories are stories not real life. Men and women for sure can be friends.

I think guys can’t be friends with girls if they have mentalities like Taemin’s. He has shaped his perspective to view friendships with girls to be unobtainable in a healthy, friendship dynamic.
Guys like Key can be friends with girls without issue, thus he has the belief that guys can be.
They’re both right, because it depends entirely on the perspective of the man and woman, and that shapes whether they can be or not. Whenever the perspective shifts, it can either open or close the door to these friendship dynamics.

I think it really depends. When I was younger I didn't have too many guy friends but whenever I saw them there was nothing romantic about our interactions. Then a year ago I became friends with a guy who was into me, and we went on a "date" and I realized what is actual intentions were and tried to let him down gently... we tried being just friends afterwards but when I tell you it didn't work it did NOT work. We just ended up getting hurt more. I know every situation is different but I hate those people who think everybody can/should be friends with their exes. For some people it might be natural... for others, it would be a disaster.

You can watch a variety segment that Onew, Jongyun, Taemin, and Key called "Ask In A Box" back in 2015. They were taking questions relationships, what attracts them to a potential partner, and love. I think Jonghyun might agree with Taemin but he was able to have female friendships in the K music industry like Key. Onew is a bit of a mystery on what he really likes in a partner nowadays. He's friendly with most women he's worked with for collaborations and label mates. The "Sea Of Hope" show he was in gave a good idea of how he would treat women he's close to but there's no indication of what will attract him. Onew's feedback in this show would have been interesting if he was with them cuz he's the most mysterious out of the 5.

i understand both povs, but i also think it depends on the people involved. it's very much possible for feelings to develop over a period of time with some having one-sided crushes, but they'd just prefer to keep to themselves instead of confessing and possibly being rejected then feeling all awkward, ruining the friendship and not being able to face them or stay by their side. then you have others that just dive in and are willing to accept whatever the outcome is and then you have those who just don't have any feelings whatsoever.
my experience was the 2nd one with my best friend of 3 years confessing to me after being my shoulder through breakups of my past relationships. at first i didn't take him seriously because i didn't see him like that, but after taking a step back and looking at our past, i realized he took care of me emotionally and mentally that whole time, so we decided to date, but when i moved away we mutually broke up because of the distance. being awkward after the break up wasn't an issue and still isn't because of understanding and communication. it was easy for us to go back to talking like best friends. i'd be lying if i said feelings weren't still there, but we've been there before, left on a good note, so let's just leave it at that, why go back to it, if we did, it's THEN that i think things between us would be ruined.

I did have a supposed male bestie, and we shared secrets, jokes etc., etc., etc. One day, he asked if I could give him a chance. He said that he saw me theough so much and waited for so long. For those who think Taemin is for real here... I need you to watch all of their previous videos and realize that he is spicing up their variety show for laughs. There's a variety of humor types in the world and not everyone has the same type of humor. You may not understand their humor but they do. It's their humor and there's nothing you can do about it. I personally find Korean humor very funny because they have similar jokes with our country's jokes so I laughed right away when he reacted like that to the question (the question being their thoughts on a certain song's lyrics). I hope everyone stops assuming negative things about him coz you're not even personally acquainted let alone know who he really is. He is doing his job as an idol so enjoy it while it lasts. He owes you nothing.

This is why I love Key!!! Cuz from what I’ve gathered he really seems to be a man that can be a genuine friend to women which is the greenest green flag in a man for me! This is not the first time I’ve noticed him being open minded(not lots of men and Korean men in this case are so…) and I love him for that ❤ I too think you can be just good friends despite the gender. And I think It’s about the individuals whether they can or cannot have platonic relationships or simply friendships with others(this isn’t only about gender, it’s also about person’s sexuality in general) If you only see opposite sex as potential romantic partner that’s on you. Besides that I do think lots and lots of men sexualize women and since we’re well aware of that fact, as a woman I can get why women might be aware of their guy friends in that sense but other than that i think it’s case by case… even if you are somewhat attracted to a person in the beginning or at some point of your relationship/friendship that doesn’t mean you can’t be good friends, you need to be honest with yourself and them and respect each other.

Yes a girl and a boy can be friends... But it's very rare for either one of them not catching a feelings for each other... I've a boy friend and he was my neighbour... We've known each other ever since I was 4 and he was 6... Everything was good until he confessed that he liked me around 4 months ago and its been awkward till now lolll
When I was younger I had so many guy friends but a few did want to cross the line. It depends how you feel towards that person and if there is a chance for more but then your risking the friendship. It’s hard. I’m still friends with a guy friend I crossed with but I have to keep reminding him in some way let’s keep it just friends no more crossing.
