What would you recommend if I have budget and design preference over the xiaomi 13??? But I'm really sold with the photo capabilities (as that's what I use it the phone for)
Hi. Good stuff as usual. When you review a camera system, I'd love for you to pick at least 1 other phone with you, like the latest iPhone, Pixel or Galaxy device so we can see how the device you're reviewing really performs against the competition. Because yes, you took nice shots with the Xiaomi, but the only question that matters is: how would have the same photos looked on competing devices?
@@HeyMarkL I trust you on this one. All I'm saying is, for any video about a new smartphone's camera, it's nice to have side by side pictures because it really helps us to highlight what the new phone does better, and how much better it does it.
Gsmarena and other videos test this and Xiaomi surely has the most natural quality, in pixel peeking the s23u may be better but overall I also personally enjoy the photos from the 13 pro more
Where the heck did you buy the Xiaomi 13 Pro global variant? I can't find it anywhere for USA consumers but I see all kinds of reviews not willing to share where they purchased it...
Don’t need a periscope zoom lens when you can digitally zoom to about 6x and still have a clear photo. Also, for photographer (who also wants a phone) the triple 50MP is enough.
@@HeyMarkL for this price periscope is must. Im waiting for the device in my hands for streets photography. Im using naw the honor magic 4 pro and OnePlus 11.
As a photographer that tried vivo x90 pro plus, and now have xiaomi 13 pro, had s22 ultra, periscope is only good for "playing" with it, there is no "real" use for 240mm zoom with f 4.9 for portrait photographer. Everything over 90mm with "bad" f number is just a toy, and periscope have too high f number. Vivo x90 pro plus had amazing main lens and 2x f1.6 lens, just amazing picture quality, also 3.5x periscope with f3.5 that I tried a few times, but not nearly as good as that 2x zoom. When I had s22 ultra, you know what I did with that 10x zoom? played with it for a few days taking pictures of stuff far away to see how "cool" it is to do that, and then deleted all of them, what am I going to do with a picture of an antenna dish from 100m away, keep it as a memory?
Why is everyone only focusing on the portrait mode? Neither Xiaomi nor any youtubers are showing the actual images from the main camera. Ultrawide is never being visited at all.
Because the main 1-inch camera isn’t technically new. And like I said in the video the 3.2x camera aligns with my shooting style more than the main 1-inch camera hence why I shot more with that. Also, if you start using the phone you’ll understand why we prefer the zoom lens more.
I beleived that cause ive been using Xiaomi since Mi9, 11 and now 12 Pro, but one things in wonder why they limited only 50MP while SS 23 Ultra go to 200 mp?
Awesome hardware but sad software support n horrible customer support n the amount ur paying is fine for people with buckets of cash but for normal folk I will stick with stable companies. But nice review
Indeed. The camera on the Xaoimi 13 Pro is truly excellent, but the rest of the phone is average at best and as for software updating?. Just awful. You can buy much better and complete phones for your money.
@@RakeshAnkem Do you mean that you think the base s23 is better? If so I'd disagree. I do think that the s23 ultra is a better phone, however I'd argue that the Xiaomi 13 Pro is definitely better than the s23 or s23+, especially if you get the Chinese version which is only $950(including tax, shipping, and a 120watt charger) for the 12/256. That's far cheaper than the 12/256 version of the s23+ which is 1000 before considering tax, shipping, and a fast charger. There is no comparison here. The Xiaomi has the best photos on any smartphone currently. Nothing can compete with its photo quality, in my opinion.

@@HeyMarkL when is the Xiaomi 13 Ultra Releasing??
Nice review pal, subscribed!
can you do a comparison between this and the vivo x90 pro plus?
The cameras look great! Which launcher/theme are you using for those black icons?
Launcher is Nova Launcher
Icons is Dark Nova
what software did you use to make these photo with details like f, iso and shutter speed at the bottom.
This was amazing, I'll likely watch it again just because. Nice work!
Some reviewers says the auto focus isn't too good did you experience that problem Thank you.
Great video man, just a question, does the nova launcher work well?, heard it was an issue with Xiaomi phones in the past.
Works great IF you have the three navigation buttons. Won’t work with swipe gestures.
How to get 35mm focal length at 5:52? Does this phone offer "zoom" to mimic certain focal length?
Thanks for the review Mark 👌🏻
