Like her daughter, I grew up with a father who was an alcoholic. He stopped drinking when I was a baby so I have no memory of it. However I was raised knowing about it and it definitely impacted my upbringing. We were never taught that alcohol was bad only that sometimes it affects people in harmful ways.
it's hard in a family with alcoholism and after they stop there's an atmosphere that stays. everyone's psychology has been centred around that one habit.
Twenty years sober - amazing. I am sober and have been for a long time. For me it was my children that wanted me to stop. I was functioning, working etc. But, I drank everyday after work for a long time. I know if I started again, my daughter would not want me around her children. For me, my family are worth me staying sober.
Had its day this programme .... was good years ago now its got the pop up reality panel on .... fillers ,teeth big lips , ect ect .... all about the panel not the guests ...
no it hasn't had its day at all. it wasn;t about the guests before either, it was more like 4 columnists. little has changed but it should be more feminist.
Maybe Nadia could start addressing her own issues with drink. She’s unable to socialise without alcohol inside her. THAT is a problem in itself. Sick to death hearing how amazing HER Marky is!
@@Captainperfection it’s not, that’s why it’s impressive when everyone manages to stay sober?? Clearly you’ve not had experience with addiction if you think it’s appropriate to think it’s a competition
Most people are not teetotal. But being sober when you don't have an addiction is no hardship. People don't get a pat on the back for not being an addict because that isn't a moral virtue -you don't get credit for being privileged and lucky and something you never chose
How do you know I’ve not struggled in other ways? Maybe I’ve had problems with addictions but have gotten over them and don’t need to have a round of applause every time I brush my teeth.
I think it’s an amazing achievement and should be celebrated and talked about. Well done Mark and well done Nadia talking about it openly and honestly. ❤
Congrats on 20 years sober Mark! 🎉🥳

Congratulations on Mark's mother maintaining her sobriety for nearly ten years with no support. It's a shame this wasn't celebrated or even mentioned.

I’ve been sober now for 4 years, best choice I ever made.
Love a queen like Nadia who uses her platform for good and speaks up for a free Palestine 🙌🏼
To live with you sober deserves a medal
This is beautiful.
Well done Mark, living your best life!
Nadia and Denise.....the look at me panellists....cant stand either of them

I agree
I agree I’m sick of it
So reading the previous comments I understand that most of you watch the show to find fault.
I knew it wouldn’t be long til Denise started talking the awful vile old woman
Most people who aren't don't want a pat on the back..People in glass houses ?
I swear not long ago a few of them said they wouldn’t get with a guy who didn’t drink
Well Denise was a total lush ( alcoholic) !
so? what does that have to do with this? they're no contradicting themselves ffs. they're not all the same person you doughnut.
@@babypicassoeisenstein it’s hypocrisy. Some of these were the ones saying it, now they want sympathy for not drinking. Make your mind up
Congrats to mark well done hope he had nice birthday you don't have a drink to enjoy yourself
Amazing
How come they weren’t dressed up for Halloween today. I’m a bit disappointed.

A bit much yarn,
I’m surprised she hasn’t driven him back to the drink yet
Anyone find this dull as dishwater,it’s all about their lives, yawn!!!
What is the difference then to an alcoholic and a heavy drinker like she says ?
an alcoholic cannot stop.
Addiction.

Prime example of why the world is hateful, why can't we listen, show love and support anymore. She is proud of her husband. Nothing wrong with that

Kaye is very aware what the truth is 🤣🤣
Does nadia still drink i wonder 🤔

Why isn’t Mark on the show with Nadia talking about this.
Well said x
Was her husband sober when he accused David lammy of being a war criminal?
Was it in the last 20 years?
@vimtorules yes then presumably
It’s true he is a war criminal!!
