GRRMartin said recently that a lot of screenwriters on adaptions deviate from the source material under the delusion that their version will be better. I'm a former HOTD fan who is so disillusioned with the series I can see how both series fell apart for similar reasons. It is frustrating and disappointing that there are so few series that do justice to their source material, and how so few live-action fantasy series do justice to the genre. I can't help but see very similar complaints against both series: everything's forced, empty girlbossification, everything too convenient, convoluted and nonsensical plots, sheer stupidity in everyone!

Did they have a table read? Did they redraft? How does the mouse loop make it into the show? If Sauron generated the loop, did he include a cute little mouse? If it's being generated by a human mind, it wouldn't be precise. If Sauron was controlling the illusion, you could have broken it via him becoming distracted. If Celebrimbor's brain was generating the illusion, you could have broken out of it by having him be hit in the head by debris. This is one of the most horrible, mind numbing, degenerate "reimagining's" I have ever seen. Aside from the fact that the mythical "Modern Audience" once again has not shown up for yet another show, the writers have made it painfully obvious that they are utterly talentless hacks. I keep hearing people call this fanfiction, but the fact is that there are clearly NO Tolkien fans at in the studio making this farce. If there were one of them at the least would surely have to stand up and say, "NO this is horrible, we can't do this anymore!" It's pretty clear why they removed Tom Shippey from the shows design team so long ago and why they waited until after Chrstopher Tolkien was dead. It's not even just a one off because Amazon Prime has already befouled Wheel of time, and now we are supposed to hold out hope for Amazon to make a Warhammer 40k show. Poor, poor Henrey Cavil. Let this end, Amazon needs to stop destroying IPs with their incompetence
I would fully believe that the fight was sketched out by AI because it took a bunch of battle elements from other media and slapped them together with no coherence whatsoever.
It's like when a kid is making a Super Hero and giving it all the best Superpowers, ruining the fun for all the other kids. RoP is ruining it for anyone who would adapt Middle-Earth Lore to film or cartoon. They are forced to either ignore the Tolkien Mythology or ignore RoP. They have written themselves out of relevance.
Like when my friends use to ask me about movies or show and were like why did they do that, I would say it was in the script (most of the time they still would just not get it), meaning crappy writing.

Why the elf's armor looks so ugly and dated?, I just rewatched the first 5 minutes from the Two Towers and man when Gandalf grabs the sword with that fierce look ready to battle the Balrog and the amazing soundtrack in the back, its just better than the two season from the rings of power imo.
