@@mishagamezzz8483 Geez, calm down. As long as you understood the concept and he taught it well, it doesn't matter if he's boring. A boring lesson that teaches well is better than a fun lesson that doesn't teach at all. And even if you didn't understand the lesson, you don't have to leave a rude comment like that 😐
thank you so much Mashup Math your video really helped me especially now cuz am preparing for my GED i think if you post a video about practicing math for GED that would help a lot for too many students because the way u explained make it much easier than i thought
thank you very much, our teacher explained to us but i didnt quite catch up, but then i saw your video and why not watch it? This helped me learn alot from algebraic translations. :)
hello Anthony! thank you for making this video! this helped me a lot... but what i dont understand is what the meaning of the variables in the expression.. like fs+qr-fr-qs.... what do they mean? i know they are the symbols used to express a number... what i mean is what do they mean in numbers? pls reply
+Rapples Oabel Thanks for the comment! Think of each variable as representing a number. For example, if f=3, s=7, r=2, and q=8, then fs+qr would represent (3)(7)+(8)(2). If you are not told what the numbers are, then you have to leave them as variables. For example, if you were using h to represent someone's height, h=5 for someone who is 5 feet tall and h=6 for someone who is 6 feet tall, etc. Does that help? -Anthony :)
ur so good at teaching our math teacher sent this video for us to watch and it makes me wrote or list the things in the screen like i mean is taking notes
It applies to addition as well! However, because addition is commutative it doesn't affect the solution to the expression. Example: 2+3 = 5 and 3+2 = 5. But 2-3 = -1 and 3-2 = 1.
Thanks a lot. Please help settle this between me and my teacher: Q Write the algebraic expression for the statement: y squared minus the sum of six times y and four. My Ans: y² - (6y + 4) My Teacher's Ans: y² - 6(y+4) Thank you
I'll try to answer it. So basically you' have three terms. You're answer is wrong because you need to add y and four first. That's why it is separated.
That's why it said "The sum of six times y and 4" not "The sum of six times y plus four. I think it is referring to the fact that if we said and, we're gonna do both of it that's why it is seperated. Sorry my explanation is bad I am still at 1st year high school
@@fosela7659 Sorry late reply but I'm sorry becauseI think I can't explain anymore. I love Math so much but I am not used to explaining something too hard (or maybe it's just too hard for me)
Hey Anthony! Ty for the tips but what if there are fractions? Like: 1/5y+4= 1 divided by 5 plus 4? Or like... 5/y+3= Quotient of five and a number plus 3? Also the parenthesis 7(c+2) IDK how

Hello, for the switch word “than” does it apply to just subtraction? Or addition as well?
It applies to addition as well! However, because addition is commutative it doesn't affect the solution to the expression. Example: 2+3 = 5 and 3+2 = 5. But 2-3 = -1 and 3-2 = 1.

I'll try to answer it. So basically you' have three terms. You're answer is wrong because you need to add y and four first. That's why it is separated.
Thanks for your explanation. But don't you think then the question should have read : y squared minus six times the sum of y and 4 rather?
That's why it said "The sum of six times y and 4" not "The sum of six times y plus four. I think it is referring to the fact that if we said and, we're gonna do both of it that's why it is seperated. Sorry my explanation is bad I am still at 1st year high school
