I'd like to see the mama's instinctively put the baby on top of her head first to me any other place is a disaster in the making lol but obviously theyre not
You didn't notice he tried several, several times to climb up on her back and she actually pushed him back down underneath her a couple of times!! He struggled many times to try to come up on her back and she would not allow it!

He should be swimming on his own. Those rats just won’t give their mother a break. He could be drowning and still won’t stop clinging.
Too many over dramatized labels on these videos. This is swim training and bathing. No one was harmed, they just get tired and a bit grouchy.
That what it gets for being too clingy and too lazy to swim it could at least crawl up on her back but it's too afraid to leave the milk bar it would actually drown just to be next to the milk bar 🙄🙄
How old is this little one? Let’s just say 2-3 months old, which is probably over estimating. The human to Macaque developmental conversion ratio, is 4:1, so this infant here, has the emotional and rational, developmental, processing abilities of an 8 month - 1 year old human baby. I don’t think anyone would say, a human child of that age was “too clingy” or “lazy” to swim. I understand, it’s obvious you hate these monkeys, and that is your right. It’s not for me to say otherwise. I can disagree strongly, and still respect you, and your opinion. It’s just, your comment makes no logical sense. I think people use things like “clingy”, “lazy” and “greedy”, to justify their hatred of Macaques. Because they are just doing, what they’ve done for 9 million years, and this little one here, is doing the only thing s/he knows how to do at this age. Obviously some develop faster than others, just like humans, and females develop faster than males. But this one is doing exactly what would be expected, at this age. I hope I didn’t offend you! It wasn’t my intention. I just wish people would research things before commenting. Kids and teenagers read these comments, and take them as fact, and then repeat them. “SOME” young people these days, are so used to getting their information from the internet, that they just take it as the gospel truth. This is monkey survival of the smartest. Those who don't figure out to get on mom's back when she's swimming drown. People washing their"pet" monkeys cracks me up after watching these moms. So careful and gently helping them get used to the water. Mom just drags them in want to or not.

I know monkey can swim and hold their breath for a few minutes but this little one was having trouble and opening his mouth underwater like he was a sign then as Mom stops to look at him at 5:01 he lets go of her, he is very tired then she stops again at 5:10 he has his mouth open again and she knows he is having trouble holding on to her. At 7:12 he is weak and can't hardly hold on or pull his head out of the water.notice as his head falls back and forward. As she is getting out and stands up she looks down at him and his head is still under the water and watch his tail going limp.He is so tired she has to lift his head out of the water at 7:31 -7:32 watch in slow motion.he could have drown ,he kept falling to sleep and as he was opening his mouth he was gasping for air

I find this difficult to watch without holding my breath too, these Mothers aren't teaching the babies swimming or bottom foraging they are born already having these skills & quite good at it naturally nor is this discipline he wasn't misbehaving, you can't learn what you already know but could instill fear & aggression in water, the mothers attention is redirected elsewhere & not on the baby whatsoever she can't see or hear him he's weightless & ignored till his head just so happens to pop up or reaching the shore, it may account for the death of seemingly healthy ones that have respirated water & developed pneumonia a few days later ..

Good gosh! It's obvious...he's sleepy! He just wants to sleep, and most babies that young still sleep on their mama. He's just about 3 or 4 mo old. They get teeth as early as 1 mo. I don't know why ya'll get so mad over a baby 🙄

No where near drowning, babies can hold their breath under water close to 5 minutes. If they get out of breath they will let go and go to the surface

I’m glad Dana wasn’t my swim instructor! I couldn’t have done those dives. From 6:11-6:34 baby gets a break but barely catches it’s breath then 6:44 to 7:11 and Dana had to practically lift babies head because of exhaustion. But she was aware of when baby had been completely exhausted. Drill sergeant Dana ... I can hear baby now. Attention! Yes mama! ... no mama! ....left.....left ....left... right ....left.. my knees are shakin, my legs are weak, I can’t seem to stand on my own two feet left...left...left, right left.

When I saw this 2 yrs ago I could not believe Donny lived!. The attempted Drowning seemed like it lasted for days? Dana was on a mission...but this mission wasn't accomplished. These mom s want baby underneath when they swim. First time baby stays where mom puts them, but eventually they detach and come up for air. The finally get on moms back. She doesn't like that. You can see mom biting them just a little but makes me wonder. I know it appears to be safer there from the other monkeys swimming they try and grab baby. But just the idea holding you breath upside-down, would make me panic. Most babies come up for air and looked panic stricken. Some not many they seem OK with what mom put them through.
She is all about just horsing around and play, while baby under water holding its breath. Kinda mean if ya ask me!

Mother is too good in teaching baby monkey a tough water survival training for future. These days even human babies who have enough swimming pool teach their kids how to swim at the age of two and three. Chinese and Japanese kids are expert in this kinds of water long stand. 🙏🙄😇
