Hello Lori ,I'm new to your Happy Place. Love it. I need a New Sewing project. Love everything you do. Colors are lovely. Pandemic has not been a happy time for Me. I've lost My Husband last year.So , Thank You for Your Happy Place.
Hi Lori, I'm time traveling back looking at all of your beautiful pictures and quilt blocks. I have a scrappy stash that is out of control, but I think I have found a solution in your posts. Thanks for sharing and keeping all of these wonderful instructions. I have one of your books, and now I'm on a hunt for your fabrics. Continue living life lovely, and sharing all these lovely creative gifts. -Madonna Carter Jackson of Columbia, SC
Thanks Lori, so happy you showed how to make square in a square block, and flying goose block, without buying the papers. I was intrigued some demonstrations showing use of papers, as I’ve thought it was easier to make them the conventional way. The first Star block is so pretty. Look forward to seeing more of your tutorials. I’m catching up on a lot, just watching, as I don’t get to use machine lately. 😊🇦🇺
Lori you make it sew fun!! I can't get over how generous and loving you are with everything you do, teach, and offer us freely! You have been a tremendous bright light for me in the past 1 1/2+ years! Thank you just doesn't seem enough. Blessings to you always!!
Thanks for explaining your different rulers and showing how to do corner half-square triangles on blocks…..great tip! I love your videos. Blessings and take care.
I really enjoy that at the start of every video we get to see an overall view of your Happy Place❤️. That And the music gives me inspiration to get out my sewing machine use my scrappy material😊
Hi Lori! As always, a great informative tutorial. Yay...I've been able to keep up weekly with "My Happy Place Sew" along. This block tutorial was excellent. I always appreciate all the time you give with sharing your techniques and thoughts with us. Also, thank you for pointing out the usefulness of your rulers and how you use them. Handy dandy for certain!
I'm getting my fabrics ordered a bit at a time for Granny's Garden. Right now making double blocks from Scrappiness is Happiness book. I started doing your easy corner triangle directions and pressing open.. I was AMAZED at how much less bulk there is in my blocks by doing that!! Thank you Lori!
I love watching all of your videos 📹 I can't wait to make these blocks... I'm a little behind but maybe I will catch up soon 😌 😏 ☺ I just can't get enough of your fabric...we all love you lots 💞💞💞
Hi Lori! So glad you explained the difference between a cutting ruler and the center-based ruler! Made perfect sense the way you've explained things. Plus, I can see this affecting many other quilt blocks--not just your patterns. So glad these are available and with no-skid backs. Makes a world of difference.
Lori, you're a wonderful teacher. And I'll add that I'm a pinner, probably a habit from many years of garment sewing, and you make me feel that it's okay. Many tutorials on other channels seem to discourage pinning, or at least point out that it's not really necessary, and I almost feel guilty that I pin, almost like people are telling me it's some kind of crutch. I love that you say, "if you're a pinner, by all means, go ahead and pin all you want".
It’s so neat that these are all the same block but with color changes and some flipping segments, they are very different. Doing the HST corner blocks at the end is genius! I have been quilting a loooooong time but I’ve learned some new, and valuable techniques from you. Thanks for these fantastic tutorials!
Thank you Lori & Cassidy for putting out these great videos. Thank you for the ruler explanation. Now I know I need to get a few more to help with my quilting! ❤️❤️
Picked up a couple tips today...easy corner half square triangles! That's the first time I've seen that technique demonstrated. Now I know what it means! Your Trim it rulers...I can see where they would save time when trimming. No more turning a block numerous times to line up two edges for trimming. An investment, but a time saver and more accurate.
Another awesome video! Always find it amazing how different each block can look, just by fabric placement and adding corner triangles to them. You always inspire me to 'Sew my Stash' each time. Thank you again, Lori!
Love your big block squares, especially the square in a square star. You could make a great quilt with a neat secondary pattern from those corners. Thanks for sharing you ideas.
I always love spending time with you watching your videos when I’m not with you in person! I was going through withdrawals! I love love love these blocks! A must make! Thank you for all you do for us Lori! ❤️
Hi Lori! I just ordered Stitch FQ bundles! 💜 Those stitch fabrics in the blocks looked so beautiful I had to get it. I always wanted to make a sampler quilt and I’m going to sew along with you on RUclips! I also got some PDF guide just now. It’s great we can make 16” blocks too, would be great to make some pillow covers with borders!! 🥰 So looking forward to receive the Stitch fabrics!! 🌻
Hi Lori. I have adopted your technique using the leader strips and that is so nice because now I don’t have a ton of strings all over Me and the floor. Thank you!
Lori I love watching this series you’re doing! You have everything so neat and organized. I’d love to come sit on your loveseat but the fire and drink tea and talk about your books and fabric stash. 😁
Lori, thanks so much for talking about the 8” finished Sew Happy Blocks …the tip of sewing the outer 1/2” corners last after sewing the block together is a great idea😃love the changes you can make to the Stars block…thanks again…wishing you joy and happy stitching ✂️🧵🪡🔆❤️
Such fun fabrics and gorgeous colors!! I would love to make all of your quilts, table runners, pillows and throw in all your cross stitch too!!!! I’m trying but you are just amazing!!
Love your tutorials. You're such a good teacher. I'm pleased someone else says flying goose, I got wrong off a group saying it. They said it's called flying geese cos of the v shape formation geese fly in. However I still call it goose when there's only one 🤣 keep up the great tutorials. Thankyou for sharing your knowledge💕
OMG thank you for this wonderful sew along. I love your PDF it is so clear that it is difficult to make a mistake. Looking forward to completing it with my own fabrics. thank you so much. I don't have any of your rulers but will be looking to purchase some of them. I am not a very good cutter
I love your Sew Your Stash series...I plan on making several of the blocks as soon as I am done with several craft shows I have signed up to do in the next few weeks...I love everything you make...and, I so appreciate you taking the time to teach us how to make each design...thank you, Lori
