This isn't my style, but I have huge respect for it. The quality is self evident. Some luxury watches leave you wondering why they cost so much...when you hold or wear this Rolex DD Masterpiece, you understand exactly where the original $250,000 (in 2008!) retail price went. Best, Tim
I kinda feel the same way. It's one of the few truly hand-made and finished Rolex products, and it's far outside the bandwagoning mainstream of Rolex products. Both of those factors make this watch special and endear it to me. Best, Tim
i got to handle one of these and the weight of it really throws you off, the one i handled had a meteorite dial and teardrop shape diamonds on the dial instead of the baguettes. reference 18965 if you are interested
Am I the only one thinking that masterpiece bracelet looks extremely cheap? No doubts it's quite robust, but looks like it's gonna come apart at any moment.
I've always been a big Rolex Pearlmaster fan but for some reason anytime Rolex uses baguette diamonds they seem to look like costume jewelry. I think it's because I'm so used to seeing round diamonds on watches and baguette diamonds don't seem to shine or sparkle as much? Unless I'm wrong?
Baguette diamonds don't have that "fire" (colorful sparkle) that you use to know from a round brilliant diamond. Thats because of the baguette-cut has less facets to reflect the incoming light than a round brilliant which is cut to perform the best possible light-reflection which results in that famous brilliance, fire and scintillation we all know from a well cut round diamond. On the other hand, baguette-diamonds have that cool icy look, almost like glass. So... no, you are not wrong !
I have this watch but only wear it in the Gulf. I wore it once in London and nearly was mugged if it wasn't for my companian. It is an enjoyable piece and it pleasures me to look at the time however I realise it is a little ostentatious.

If Hoovies Garage would do watch reviews...
I truly hate 99% of gem set watches, I am unsure as to why I clicked on this specific video.
