For the many thousands of people asking how much this plane is, it was made by a man named Mac Hodges. Its not for sale and he goes around the country doing shows, so don't get your hopes up thinking you can buy one.
Negative, this one is not the Mac Hodges one. It's build by two belgians, my regretted friend Pieter and his cousin. After Pieter died in a ultralight crash in jan. 2008, the plane never flew again. It was donated to a museum for display.
That's quite an achievement! Looks so real, the only thing that gives it away is the sound. The work that's gone into building it must be staggering! Bet those guys breathe a sigh of relief every time they land it without damage!
Its not just about the flying aspect, a lot of RC models are built by the people who fly them. Its the satisfaction that airplane in the air you're flying you built yourself.
You know those guys had to be proud the first time she took off. A lot of hard work and money into that but I'm sure we'll worth it. Thanks for the video. Made me feel like a kid again
I believe their choice of prop has to do with the ideal RPM of the smaller scale engines, the very likely fixed pitch nature of the spinners, and the power to weight ratio of the plane. I imagine those props are fixed pitch, so the pilot would have to change throttle via RPM to alter the plane's trust. Having a heavier-than-necessary prop would increase the throttle lag and make the plane more difficult to fly. That, and the power to weight ratio might have been easier to manage with a 3 blade.
Some B-29s even had 3 blade props. Make one to specs? Then why not an exact duplicate engine, eliminate the radio control gear, etc. 2, 3 and 4 blade props for RC are for pilot-control preferences. What a totally stupid statement from someone obviously ignorant of the hobby.
Children can see the wonder in things that some other people can't. That's something I've tried not to lose as I've become older, and it's one of the reasons I've chosen a career in science. Without the childish sensations of curiosity and wonder, we wouldn't have things like aeroplanes; toy or otherwise.
woww cool i have an ac 130 with military camouflge its pretty impressive this new sport is more and more popular since in my country i was one of the first ones introducing it in 1992
Real sharp :-). Some of these models have a power to weight ratio that's ridiculous (far too much power). This one looks right. One little nitpick I'll have to look up. Weren't the belly turret guns on these more towards the center of the fuselage?
Only difference from Rc to big birds are the consequences of a mistake. You can come away unscathed from the former while the latter rarely turns out pleasant. So real pilots have a lot more procedural training to cover for. And almost all operational activities are designed with safety in mind.
Hello Gasoline2009, probably from the sheer complexity of the plane, there are quite a lot of functions to this enormous "model", that could be potentially dangerous really quickly. I think they have split the tasks as pretty much on the flight deck of a real plane, between pilot and co-pilot. Maybe one controls the actual aerodynamics, whilst the other controls the engines and undercarriage? Nice fly by's tho'.
this is the side of youtube I'm staying at, so much better to watch videos like these than hatred.
3:21 This is how i see the end of my life.

If it’s a one of a kind it is probably priceless. Imagine having a crash.

That is so cool imagine how much it cost though
a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Santa...
Just put a horse saddle on the thing and climb on board... (or buy a cessna, cheaper and smaller!)
lol

Great model Nice work. One correction, The B-29 had four blade props
dear santa....
That looks like the ENOLA GAY plane.
That's cuz it is, except it's not the exact one just the same type of plane (the b-29)
You know those guys had to be proud the first time she took off. A lot of hard work and money into that but I'm sure we'll worth it. Thanks for the video. Made me feel like a kid again
The real B 29 had 4 blade props...........if they are going to make one to specs, then do it right. Others have on other models.

The model had 4 blades props for displaying. The 2 blades were for flying only.

Excellent job flying the Superfortress!!
Still amazes me when I watch this video. 😀 I've seen it 20 times probably and it never gets old.
Every single thing was just perfect! Love the video shots, sound, take off, fly, landing, place..!
That view from under the plane as it flys over the camera would make anyone think it's the real thing. Nice job.
Damnnn...!! It's a biggest plane that I ever seen. Great took off and perfect landing. Good job, guy. And keep it up!!
What a beautiful model!
Really really big and flown by skilled men.
Nice flight! You know it's big when it takes two guys to control it lol! :)
Great plane ... well flown !
This is what I'm looking for my next video production.
♥like♥
Thats awesome, looks great and especially loved the landing.
Very impressive B-29. Enola Gay revisited from the Smithsonian. Great work. A joy to watch.
your welcome! theres a hell of a lot more to flying model planes than people think there is :) well worth getting into tho, its a great hobby !
Perfectly level flying is the supreme challenge of the scale model pilot.
Wow!!!
Even with real Turboprops!!!
Simply amazing!
Nice job! I'd be scared of a flight failure with something this large.... it'd go through someone's roof!
Outstanding Piloting guys... FANTASTIC
Very interesting answer.I had no idea how much there is to the design and operation of these beauties.
a mini Enola Gay? Where's the mini- toy "Tallboy" falling out of its little bomb bay doors? Haha awesome video folks ^^
Like that sound!
Great Job!

NAILED the landing!
that was impressive , this could no way be done by amateurs. Are any of your friends a former aviation pilot or mechanic ? Nice job fellas
Big. large & beatiful. I like the B-29.
Que buen pilotaje, impresionante. Gracias por subirlo.
Impressive aircraft and flying...
0:50 there is this typical desert thing, always passing by in the movies xD
This is what I'm talking about! More planes please...
They wish they had anything this good.

Wow, awesome!
awesome landing!!!!!amazing.
great landing !
Friend:Hey I'm gonna go rc planing
Me: ok, I'll come too
Friend: just let me load up the trailer first
:O
Wow, from a distance it really looks real.
Nice approach and touchdown
I'm pretty sure you could have bought a decent 152 for the money lol
Nice plane thou congrats
That thing is HUGE! I would ride it. LOL.
Loving this!
Beautiful!
Holy huge. Liked and subscribed.
THAT IS IMPRESSIVE! There are only 1 or 2 airworthy B-29's left in the world, I guess we'll have to add 1 to that list!
Incrivel. O som gerado pelos motores lembra o som daqueles videos da segunda guerra em que os B-29 eram mostrados!
Estão de parabéns!
Wow did you see the wing lift when it speeded up -Nice fortress .
Farking cool..... Wats the rang on that before u lose signal? That has to be a rush, to watch it do a low flyby
Wow beautiful landing.
That's freaking awesome.
Wonder how long that took to make, looks amazing
must be tough to control and ever tougher to land that plane
still awesome
must have scared the shit out of many passers by
ok ya i was stuck trying to figure out if it was a B-29 or B-52, thanks for clearing it up for me
wow! thats amazing ! how far/high can you fly with this theoretically?
good job nice landing wow :)
awsome that thing is HUGE cool vid
Love the channel!
nice landing...
Guess it would require 2 PILOTS! Awesome
Looks authentic, sounds anything but!
I think i gave u 100 likes :) awsome plane man

can be used in movies and we would never doubt that it's a scale model!
simply amazing!!!
That is Awesome!
Nice Landing
Nice, you should share that on our website if you get a chance!
awsome video by the way
"THIS IS AMAZING! LOOK AT IT FLY!"
"Pilot please identify yourself, you're flying over restricted military territory"
