The whole point of B7 was the interplay between the characters under the extreme conditions they lived through. If the actors and script are good enough the "special effects" are pretty much unimportant window dressing to the storylines. B7 was actually far more poignant and relevant to the late 20th century than Star Trek. B7 told the story of humanity AS IT REALLY IS. Star Trek is an idealized universe of HOW WE WOULD WISH TO BECOME. I loved B7 as a teenager (when it originally aired) and nothing has surpassed it for character complexity since then. One of the best sci-fi shows ever in my opinion.
Blake’s 7 was a refreshingly nice change from the Star Trek and Star Wars phenomena, when I started watching it via syndication in the 90s. It was certainly interesting as something new from British sci-fi TV for me to get into at that time, alongside Red Dwarf, after the cancellation for the classic Doctor Who.
Despite what they say here, me and my friends where hooked on this show week after week and the ending of the series was awesomely shocking. Avon really was an incredible character to watch!
While it could be a disaster, it would be interesting if it was remastered with CGI, even the practical effects on stage could be done as an overlay. Just as long as it still looks gritty. And it could be done quite cheaply or even as a fan project if home Pc's used.
I met Paul Darrow(Avon) in Liverpool,really nice guy/
superb series! ignore tacky effects tis the characters and stories that matter.

Beth. I'll go along with that.

I've met Jacqueline Pearce, the federation came to my home town, and I survived
IMO the arch-enemy Servalan was the best female arch-villain and B7 without Servalan as the arch-enemy would not have worked

what a lazy, crappy script - with half thought contempt for its subject
