    DO you HAVE to put your camera on the absolute edge of the table my guy? LOL I just took my blood medicine and I think that part of the video dupped it out HAHAHA. Nice content man I like it!

      😂😂 it’s because I had the dummy battery in there and I didn’t want the cable awkwardly bending or breaking on the desk! But you’re right - should probably watch that in the future lmao.
      Thanks for watching!!

    Wow I might need to look into those microphone capsules! Would have saved me some peace of mind on my travel shoot to Colorado earlier this month. Great first Vlog! Subscribed to see more of the work you do, you seem to get around alot and travel to interesting places, if you ever find yourself in Dallas TX we'll have to meet up if you have the time!

      I've only had the opportunity to use the lav concealers once, but I think they are going to become an essential part of my audio kit!
      And thanks for the sub! The agency work has me traveling quite a bit - I hope to do more outside of that in the near future. I have a three hour layover in DFW coming up, that's about it 😅 but if I'm there for work, I'll definitely let you know!

    My advice for working with agencies is “Don’t” - I mean in all seriousness, the best way to work with an agency is to be on the internal staff. Being a freelancer for agencies is normally a stressful experience. Not as much on the shooting side as the editing side. I try to minimize my work with agencies to those that are staffed with reasonable and seasoned professionals. Agencies that are filled with 25 year old creatives are no fun.

      I appreciate the insight! It’s interesting to hear others’ experiences. I am lucky enough to be one of the core team members with this agency, and the primary videographer. We also have a team of freelance editors that we work with, so I don’t necessarily have to handle that aspect of the job. So my experience has been a positive one, but I understand how fortunate I am, and that not everyone has that.

      I had the opposite experience. I worked at an agency and was the youngest there for years. Often overworked and underpaid (may have been my own fault) but now freelancing for agencies seems like a much better setup. I'm sure it depends on the agency!

      I dig the vlog style BTS! I really enjoy solo shoots like this one. Great tip on the lav capsules!

      @@VideoVo-Tech it was definitely a game changer and looked awesome in the final edit! I’ll have to see if I can pull some of that footage to share 🤙🏼

      @@VideoVo-Tech I’m sure the size of the agency and the niche play a huge role in the experience. I’m one of five core team members, and they run a pretty lean roster when it comes to clients. Everyone has their roles. I can imagine larger agencies with more clients can run into issues with employee/freelancer burnout though.

      Thanks for being the catalyst for it! Seen a lot of good ones on here, and it definitely helps break down the barrier to entry by just filming it on the phone.

    Thanks for the video. I am surprised / glad that the agency that hired you is ok with Panasonic cameras. It seems that all the agencies that are hiring for low- or mid-budget jobs want Sony cameras :( Am I wrong about that? Have you missed out on jobs since you are shooting with Panasonic cameras? BTW: I have an original S5 and an S1, and was actually thinking of picking up an EVA1... just... because...

    • @rivvidproductions

      Thanks for the kind words! To be honest, it's such a small agency in such a relatively small niche that I don't think they really care about the brand of camera. They deliver everything in 1080p for the clients and have custom color profiles that they shoot in to get the look they want. As far as missing out on jobs, not quite sure how I'd fare with other agencies, but I am the primary videographer for this one, so I haven't had to worry about it yet!

    Did the agency reach out to you to start or did you reach out to them?

    • @rivvidproductions
      @rivvidproductions  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for reaching out! The agency contacted me to start. I had met the agency owner during the pandemic, he knew I had some video experience and when an opportunity came up to work together he thought of me.
