I'm glad I finally got around to watching the first season and don't have to wait long for season 2. Made the mistake of believing the fandom that the show was bad. But then I saw how the fandom treats people who reacted to the Jackson trilogy, and many of them seem like egotistical, narsccicistic jerks so I stopped putting mich stock in what they say, and really enjoyed the first season.
Honestly, the “fans” aren’t really fans anymore. They ruin everything. I’m also glad I didn’t listen. I so enjoyed the first season!

And then I watched it, and loved it!
I think the characters of Adar, Arondir, Elrond, Prince Durin, and Princess Disa were incredible characters!
Especially Prince Durin and Princess Disa. I can’t get enough of them!
But they are right it's trash.
They ruined the story, e.g orcs are created from corrupted elves in factories not reproducing. If you want to make an interesting story just make the new one and get off of the original IP it's insulting.

I was a bit sceptical when I first heard about the possible show from Tolkien's lore, but I was SO positively surprised by season 1! And now watching season 2, I'm absolutely loving it. It's done so beautifully, respectfully and without all the current trends of unnecessary shocking the audience. I love the music, I love the quotes, I love the slow pace that is never boring to me, but feels so well done. The creators understand the lore and are doing an amazing job 👏 I hope they make more seasons. Wonderful actors and I love that everyone can find something for themselves in it and find themselves in it, on many levels. It's what fantasy should be about.
I watched season 1 and it was a good story for me. Waiting for season 2 👍

I agree. What ruins the show for me are those people hating and spreading hate and spoiling it for everyone around, just because it isnt as good as the first trilogy by peter Jackson. That was a once in a lifetime event, dont expect everything to break these records.

No offense to the actors, they are good in their craft, but this show is pure garbage. The disrespect to Tolkien is off the charts, it's missing every single thing that made the books (and the films) great. If you can't make it accurate and true to the source material don't make anything. You are not Tolkien. You are not better than the creator.

No such thing as a black elf or hobbit in Tolkiens universe.
well they still really nicely suited the role, i could see a hobbit of african descent working just fine since africans are naturally born into nature and labor, and the “black” elf has more white in him than black, trust me. plus he did a wonderful job in portraying elf charm and mysteriousness; he has all the characteristics that a elf should have regardless of his skin color. you guys are just tone deaf, why do y’all hate to see diversity so much? we’ve had over a decade of movies filled with just white people and we’ve never said a thing.

In season 2 he will come in contact with Isildur. And because he is used to be in an enviroment of humans (he was a Southland Border Guard) he will have an easier time to be good buddies with him.
