I got 111 with 4 days of preparation - R 29, L 29, S 26, W 27!!!! All thanks to your youtube videos!!! To be honest, I was not expecting to score above 20 in the speaking section because I zoned out while answering. My answer mostly just comprised of generic template words. No kidding - I blanked out for a solid 10-11 seconds at one stretch in the integrated speaking session. I was only able to bounce back and continue my answer because of the templates you suggested in your videos! I'm surprised to see how helpful the templates have proved to be! My prep tip to all students - When watching youtube videos, turn off the captions, set the playback speed to 1.75x or 2x, and take notes. This way, you can prepare for other sections and simultaneously work on your listening & note-taking skills. This really helped me because I got comfortable taking notes when somebody's talking REALLLYYY fast. So in the exam when I heard the lectures or conversations at a normal pace, understanding what the speaker was saying felt like a piece of cake - and note-taking was easy too! Rest - blindly follow what TST Prep says!!!! Really helpful videos!!

Great question! You can share a story you heard from a friend, or neighbor, or even on the news, or on a show. Hi, Josh! Thank you for your great videos. What can students do to remember all details of the lecture? Some really can't recall what the narrator exactely said. Do you have any tips of advice of this?

JOSH! I took a real toefl test two days ago, scoring 30 and 29 in the reading and the listening. However, in speaking section, I used some transitional phrases that were completely the same as what I had used in Toefl Practice Online (on the ETS site, graded by ETS' speachrater ). Will this be identified by the speachrater?
Hi there and thank you for your question. I have talked with representatives at ETS about the usage of templates and the answer is always the same, there is NO penalization for using templates. Also, if you use the same transition words and phrases in multiple questions, this is also NOT penalized since each question is graded separately. I hope that clarifies.
Hello josh, this was really helpful I have a question, whenever I start speaking I always use the phrase (you know) in between sentences, actually my concern is that it would affect my score negatively, is that the case and if you think so what are your suggestions to avoid such problem ?!
Thanks for the question. Saying "You know," many times will likely lower your score. This is because it is counted as an utterance or an unnatural pause between the sentences. If you only do it once or twice, it's not a big deal, but if you use it in every sentence, then you need to try and edit it out. Hope that helps. :)
Thanks for the question. In general, AI does a good job at marking some aspects of the TOEFL speaking responses, but I strongly caution against taking the score given by the AI as completely accurate. If I was scoring these answers, my scores might be slightly lower/ higher in certain points. AI is good, but nothing is as accurate as a human grader.
@@ritachisom7008 With TOEFL AI, it is best not to look at the final number for your "score." This is because AI doesn't do the best job of knowing if you answered the question correctly. Speaking speed is a crucial component of your score. You don't have to speak fast but you have to speak at a good pace. You should aim to say 120 words in 45 seconds. How can I install my speaking score.
Please can i get the link to the free TOefl practice test from ets that will generate a score once im through with the test
You can find the link here - www.ets.org/toefl/ibt-enhancements.html
I don't know how to start preparing for the test. My accent is awful, I couldn't speak very well
I would recommend signing up for a speaking evaluation first - tstprep.com/toefl-store/toefl-speaking-evaluation/ - this 30-minute call was designed to give students like you feedback on their strengths and weaknesses.
@@TSTPrep so , it is free or not
@@H7W.8 We offer a lot of free resources on our site, tstprep.com. As for classes with our teachers and evaluations, they are not free, sorry.
Hi Josh I'm having my Toefl this coming Sunday 😢 I really need help
Hi there and thank you for commenting. If you have just a few days before the test, you might find the TOEFL Emergency Course useful / tstprep.com/store/toefl/toefl-emergency-course/. This course has been designed for students who don’t have time to learn every single detail about the TOEFL, but just need to know essential information, TOEFL tips, tricks, and strategies in the least amount of time. Good luck!
I get very nervous every time I hear that I only have 60 seconds to speak, so I mess everything up
Thanks for commenting and you're not alone! Lots of students feel the same way. It's weird to speak "on command". The best cure I know for this is to practice in a TOEFL-like situation, record your responses, and try to get used to those weird settings by continuing to practice every day. Hope that helps!
Hi josh you’re an absolute icon
I’ve been reading the comments out loud to practice lol
Anyway are all the answers always like this or did you pick specific ones to help us practice? Everyone seems to have some issue in one area or another which makes me more relaxed but also wonder where I should work harder since I really enjoy that
Hi there and thank you for commenting. Of course, everyone is different, and we have a huge collection of students' responses. Here is a link to a page with responses if you are interested - tstprep.com/practice-questions-toefl-speaking/. If you need additional help, I would recommend meeting with one of our TOEFL Speaking teachers for a speaking evaluation. This 30-minute call was designed to give students like you feedback on their strengths and weaknesses.

Thank you for your feedback.
thank you!!!
Hi Josh, I have a doubt, are these real scores we will get if we talk like this on test day
Hi there, can you please elaborate on your question? Which score or which response are you referring to? What is your specific doubt? In general, the sample answers are considered to be very accurate.
@@TSTPrep I mean, all the responses that you are validating do they really get the same scores from ets that you are mentioning in thumlines
@@ratnaprabhu3383 It is impossible to say for certain these would be exact scores, as we don't work for ETS, but based on all our experience and research, these scores should be very accurate.
Hey Josh, How can I get 30/30 Scores on Toefl reading?
Hi there and wow, 30 would be amazing ;) It is difficult to get too granular in a RUclips comment, but you can visit our site for useful tips and articles on TOEFL Reading - tstprep.com/
You can always meet with a teacher for a trial lesson if you want more specific answers for yourself - tstprep.com/toefl-store/toefl-trial-lesson/

Hey Josh, I got my TOEFL score today and I scored a 30/30 in speaking and 28/30 in writing and it's all thanks to your videos. Thank you for curating content that helps all of us irrespective of whether we're just starting with our preparation or looking for resources to perfect our skills, you have it all covered. I didn't have much time to prepare for these two sections, in fact I only practiced speaking for a few hours a day before my test and it was the section I was the least confident about. Thank you for your explanations, your tips and tricks and for the way you constantly tell us in your videos that it's okay to make mistakes and not panic no matter how much or how little time we have in hand. Keep up the good work! 🤍
That's amazing news! Glad my channel helped :) If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you leave your review at this link - sotellus.com/r/tst-prep/? It will help people on Google learn about my site, TST Prep.
