@@chrisl7034 You don't. I substituted it with rooibos because I just wanted the routine, I did this for a long time. However after reading of the benefits I now drink one small cup every morning as well. :) We all "NEED" our little escapes, be it sports that release endorfins, hobbies, social contacts... anything that activates our little reward system as we all are motivated by chemical rewards. We basically run on "psychoactive drugs" which are chemicals naturally composed in our brain. But yeah ofc best to choose the otherwise most beneficial ways to obtain those rewards.
That's like saying alcoholics are just overdoing it. They just need to stick to one drink. 😂 Someone who drinks several cups a day needs to quit altogether. Caffeine is an addictive drug.
Interesting. Pro-tip: if you love coffee too much to ditch it, mix decaf with normal coffee (50-50), you'll maintain a good taste and get plenty enough caffeine. Works great for a caffeine sensitive person like me.
I’m glad you got sponsored for this - the amount of work you put into this video should be compensated! Also as a die hard tea lover, loved seeing you join the loose leaf crew 🍵
As an avid tea drinker(I drink 2~5 cups a day), I'm happy to see you trying tea. For me, tea also doesn't lead to a sudden crash during the afternoon, like coffe usually does. So tea is my go to
I’ve been completely caffeine free for almost a year. Best decision ever. I only drink water. No more heartburn, jitters, anxiety, stress, clenching and grinding of my jaw, restless / sleepless nights, caffeine crashes, extreme fatigue…the most goes on. Now I wake up at 5:20am and I just get out of bed with energy ready to go.
I think the key here is to drink coffee or tea in moderation. I think I remember reading somewhere that the more caffeine you consume, the less effective it becomes, aka the law of diminishing returns
Yea I slowly decreased the amount of caffeine I had, so whenever I do have a cup of tea (or coffee) it just gives me a boost rather than it being something I need. I don't see why that wasn't a part of his goal. He seems to consume an absurd amount of caffeine.
Keep going bro, your videos are amazing and especially the quality of the camera. The redemption must be close, your videos gonna get viral pretty soon
Fun fact! Boiling with the herbs in the pot as you boil is a decoction and leaving overnight in the fridge with cold water is an infusion! Some herbs release their constituents better in different circumstances: such as roots for decoctions and mucilages for cold infusions.
You have to read the book "Your Mind on Plants" by Michael Pollan. 1/3rd of the book is about Caffeine. (the other thirds about mescaline and opium and I can recommend the opium part as well!) Anyway it's a fun and informative books about the plants we put in our bodies. Based on your sense of humor I think you'll enjoy it immensely.
I went off coffee for a couple of years but then went back to it during quarantine but at least it’s an organic, no pesticides decaff coffee. I’m happy to be off caffeine. I drank so much coffee before I became immune to caffeine. I could have a double espresso just before bedtime and sleep like a baby.
I'm drinking so much tea everyday, but I've never had quality tea like that...now I really want to try it out! :D Aso I like how Ottilie noticed effects of the coffee on you that you didn't realize before :D
I drink around 350ml of coffee a day in one dose. To ease the caffeine withdrawal I drank green and black tea. That lasted for a week, then I went caffeine free for 30 days. It wasn't hard, and I didn't noticed enough of a huge difference to keep it up.
It’s not about the coffee volume. It’s all about the amount of caffeine. 350 ml of regular black coffee is about only 1/3 of healthy amount for a regular person
I go stretches without and with coffee it helps to keep tolerance levels in line so it keeps being effective for me. But I also only drink one cup a day 🤣
Ok putting on notifications now! I just missed this video Unfortunately BC it was not recommended to me. Lol, thought it would be! So happy to see this Jonne!
Would suggest trying having pour over coffee with freshly roasted beans and grinding yourself at home as your go to coffee. You can essentially explore the world of coffee, similar to how you're exploring the world of tea. This type of coffee is a lot less biter and less negative effects.
I get anxiety and seriously moody. It tastes so good and I love the buzz for the first hour... But its not worth it. Chronic fatigue and unrepairable damage to the adrenal gland. Its classed as a neurotoxin after all
oh cool remember wishing good luck when you had around 10k subs or so , now 119k not bad , quality useful content great stuff , ill be back to cheer you at 500k and 1 mil

I have coffee cups with coffee facts on them, one of them says: Scandinavians drink the most coffee in the world. I didn't know it would me 30 cups a day!!
I drink tea in the evening and have gone deep down the rabbit hole on the benefits of particular teas and ingredients, which also helped me kick poor habits like eating sweets at night. One additional knock on (most) tea bags as well is the amount of micro-plastics and pesticide residue... gross Still love that morning coffee though! How else could I poop before long runs?
Where did you find the statistics of Finns drinking 8-9 Cups of Coffee per day? What I found so far says it is more like 3-4 Cups per day. Which Sounds kinda more realistic considering this to be the average of all people. Also the Most recent statistics I found say people in Luxemburg and the Netherlands seem to Drink more Coffee then people in Finnland. Just courious where you found your information :)
I stopped drinking coffee few month ago because it doesn't even give me energy. Now I feel the urge to try high quality tea after watching the video. Thanks for sharing your experience, very entertaining!
Try yerba mate. Very popular drink here in South America. It has caffeine but less than coffee and other cool things and it's a great way to start your day or actually good at any time of day. Greetings from Argentina. Hyvää Suomi, perkele!
I liked your comment because I also don’t plan to give up coffee, but I do think it’s worth trying to cut down to 4 cups of coffee a day or less, if you are consuming more than this. Your heart and organs will thank you, and I didn’t have much trouble cutting down to 2 or 3 cups a day - and it’s much, much easier than quitting cold turkey. Now I’m down to 1-2 cups a day and that feels about right for me.
@@valediggler Well, there’s actually a lot of research that suggests coffee is good for your health! In general, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. In low amounts, coffee has even been shown to decrease risk of heart disease. But it’s important to remember that caffeine is a stimulant, so it increases your heart rate and I believe blood pressure until it leaves your system. Fine in low doses, but I used to drink about 8 or 9 cups of coffee a day in university, and I could feel the effect on my heart. I said 4 cups before, because that is the recommended daily limit. I’m not a doctor, but honestly I recommend you just listen to your body and see how it feels. If you feel fine on 5 cups of coffee, maybe you’re fine on 5 cups! Maybe try to cut back a little and notice if you feel different. You definitely don’t need to give it up completely, coffee is one of my favorite parts of my day, and a little coffee seems to have lots of health benefits.
For me it is all about what I want from drinking coffee, that is that I just want to enjoy drinking coffee. So when I am on board a ship for my 4-5 months contract I usually do not drink coffee as it is not the Italian cappucino I like. So for me I sometimes do not drink coffee for months
English Breakfast tea is a nice variant of black tea and it tastes good with just a little milk. It is cheap, easy to make and has less caffeine. I still love coffee but one coffee a day is more than enough. Buying expensive green teas and matchas for everyday drinking is really not something that you should do if on a budget. You will simply go back to coffee.

And oh, at 12:33 I meant switching from coffee to tea, not from tea to coffee.. ✌️😅
O
None 😃 I drink tea and mate (Latino American hot drink-you should try it!)
One cup of coffe, but after this video tea is going to be hard consumed ✌
Two cups of coffee and one serving of tea or mate (in Brazil we drink toasted mate, so it looks a lot like tea).
Used to do 1 cup of coffee a day but made the switch to tea about 2 months ago.
I really respect how much work you put into each and every single one of your videos 👏.
