Althorp was once home to one of the grandest walled gardens in all of England. Built in 1733, it has not been used as a garden for over 70 years. Follow the process as a team of experts help us uncover the garden's secrets as we work to restore it to its former glory.

It’s such a beautiful garden and I wish you well with the research, planning and restoration. Imagine when, in a couple years time, this magnificent piece of your property produces beautiful and nutritional produce for your table?! Althrop is a magical estate which I had the pleasure of visiting a few years ago. Well done with your efforts.

I cannot WAIT to see what you do with this garden! Will you be repairing anything? Walls, gardener's house, etc.? And, what is the gardener's house like inside? It's all just SO INTERESTING! Thank you for sharing everything about this gorgeous estate, I look forward to every new post!

I am so pleased you showed this walled area for vegetables and flowers. A wall does keep the pests out...my garden is much smaller and is just a bare stretch of lawn at the moment. I need to fence it in and put a lovely entrance first. Please update on progress. I like the idea of a nice glass house in the centre as a feature.

Wow this will be an amazing restoration process. I’m looking forward to following along. And how lucky to have such a charming cottage still attached to the garden. That will make a wonderful visitors center for the garden if you are able to open it up to the public one day.
