I had the Old Country Rose picked out for my china many years. When I got married. My Mother-in-love bought the whole set for me. I was beyond delighted to say the least. My Mother-n-love passed away 10 years ago from ALS. Every year we celebrate her on the day of her home going. We use the beautiful china she purchased for us. Thank you for sharing. ❤ 🌹
I too have Old Country Roses (service for 12). I have the dinner plates, salad plates, dessert plates, tea cups and saucers, teapot, coffeepot, creamer, sugar, covered server, open server and last but not least, espresso demitasses. My daughters are now 50 and 51. When they were six and seven I got them each service for 12 of Lenox Windsong (discontinued now) and for the life of me I can't remember the name of my other daughter's set but it is so beautiful! It is bone china and has a thick gold band and tiny raised burgundy flowers with the raised centers in pale yellow. It is so elegant! They got to pick and they still love their sets. Since they got such a large number of pieces of the full collection with serving pieces, they did not have to buy anything more. Enjoy yours and I too have great memories of both my grandmothers.

My conclusions are: 1. The colors are festive yet toned and in control. It’s just perfect, I promise the videos are not doing it justice. 2. It is remarkably neutral: it lends well with summer to winter decor. 3. It is very stunning even when paired with silver or brass teapot. No wonder it is very popular. Would highly recommend this pattern to new collectors or for those who are on a budget but would like to have a beautiful tea set

I love old country roses it’s timeless and one of there most beautiful patterns I was told by an expert to watch how i Handel and use the pieces so that I don’t scratch them or when stirring tea in the cups or cowfe never to touch the bottom or the sides with the spoon and only stack the plates4 high for the weight can crack the glaze ounce that’s cracked the value goes down and if you have a lighter china closet open the doors for 8 hours to release the heat for it can dry the porcelain out

I’ve always loved the old country roses pattern from Royal Albert😍 but it wasn’t till my grandma passed away that I started the collection. My husband surprised me with my first teapot set and plate set and then he just kept adding on. I’ve bought some pieces but 90% were spontaneous purchases my husband made over the years. We use the teapots and tea cups almost every day. My children absolutely love tea out of a fancy teacup and Most and eventually all will get passed down to them. They already have their favorite teapot pattern picked out.

Hi I also started collecting Old country roses and please I saw you have the regular teapots in old country roses you have 2 sizes one looks a little smaller than the one you have on the platter with the 4 tea cups and saucers and I wanted to ask if the one in the platter is 8 cups or 6 cups and the other one that is smaller how many cups are they? Hi there, The smaller old country roses teapot holds 5 cups, The large one holds 7 cups. I found the old country roses spoons years ago on eBay. Maybe one will pop up someday for you.

@@aaartsygal I’m not sure I have the original packaging for it but I know they do make things in Japan Indonesia and in China and A few other places. They haven’t been making Royal Albert in England for a long time. That spoon set is discontinued item so if you do find it, it is a rarity.
If you get the vintage old country roses china which was made before the 1970s then yes, it has lead in it. Lead was in so many things back then including paint and dishes because people thought it was safe. If you get the old country rose china made AFTER the 1970s as lead was banned from dishes after that time then there is no lead. Royal Albert has been making old country rose china for decades up to now so just get some modern made pieces. But even with the vintage china with lead, I’m skeptical if it has any noticeable detriment to health anyways. I work with healthy 90+ year old ladies that use their old china everyday and they seem fine.

I inherited a set of 6 cups and saucers dating back from late 80s and made in the UK.. are they of any value, since new ones are made in Asia?
It seems like the ones made in England originally due hold a higher value.
The ones originally made in England have a bit higher value but the Asian made ones are still excellent quality.
