I am a huge fan of Articaine... Works so well even in situations where lignocaine is not so effective... As u rightly pointed out e. g. Hot tooth

My dentist was using lidocaine and I was still in agony when pulling the tooth, he gave me another dose and that didn't work and that's made me anxious and afraid to go to the dentist. I was then referred to the dental hospital and he explained he was using articaine and that I should not feel anything but a bit of pulling and pushing but no Paine. Knowing how anxious I was he proceeded to explain how he was gonna extract the tooth, plus it was a lower wisdom and the one next to it and fair play true to his word it was two of the most painless extractions IV ever experienced, to be honnest I am in pain now the injection has worn off wich to be honnest can be expected from all the pushing and pulling but it's no where as painfull as toothache itself. In future I'll be asking my dentist if he uses articaine and if not I'll go elsewhere.

Articaine half life is much shorter than lignocaine. Also, it is not indicated for IAN block as it is considered neurotoxic. Lignocaine is still the gold standard for routine dental procedures.

Can be used for all types of local anaesthesia just like lignocaine can... No contraindication that I am aware of... It's a very safe drug...
Don't give it to a younger than 4 year old kid.

That would be case dependant... You can give infiltration and/or blocks as per requirement

Yes u can give... No reaction between ligno and arti as per my knowledge

Best way is to test it on skin first... However allergy to lignocaine is rare... Allergies are to preservatives in the bottle... Hence I prefer cartidges as they have no preservative paraben...
