    I'll say it again, underrated channel. Although you represent Axiom, seldom I've seen a video from you pitching us your products. Instead you give us information, openly and clear so we understand every single aspect of speakers, power needed to fill our tv rooms, room modes, speaker location, speaker toeing and more.
    Thanks Andrew.

    i thought my amp was the faulty one, but once i inserted a new woofer, distortion was gone.
    guess what, old woofer was gone, even tho ohm's were ok
    Removed the cone, coil out, still in good shape. Removed the first coil wire, the second one was 45-50 burned. 😅

    So essentially distortion can be created similarly in a fashion from a coil that drives a relay or solenoid without a protective diode?

    • @AxiomHomeTheaters
      @AxiomHomeTheaters  2 года назад

      Yes, a similar distortion can be caused in any electro-motor where a coil of wire is energized, but normally a relay or solenoid will be in an on/off state.

    Are small speakers, more easily to clip like satellite speakers?

    • @AxiomHomeTheaters
      @AxiomHomeTheaters  3 года назад +3

      All things being equal, it’s likely that a small speaker will not be able to play as loud and reach its limit earlier than a larger speaker. They will also be easier to overdrive, particularly with low bass.

    • @Lowkey_nxthxn

    • @AxiomHomeTheaters

      The first thing I would try would be to swap one of the front main speakers with the center and see if the distortion stays in the center channel output. That would rule out any issues with the center channel speaker itself. Thanks for watching.

  • @wadimek116
    @wadimek116 3 года назад +1

    So in theory more speakers that play different frequencies should play better

    • @AxiomHomeTheaters
      @AxiomHomeTheaters  3 года назад +3

      Theoretically the more you spread the power requirements over more drivers, the lower distortion you will hear. However, you need to be aware of increasing crossover complexity and how the radiation pattern is impacted. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a free lunch in loudspeaker design…it’s all about balancing compromises. Great comment, thank you for watching.
