    yeah, the work around and in the box... THAT is your area of improvement given how frequently you are forward in this system vs video's from your prior teams. SOOO many touches though, you gotta be happy about that!

    12:51 I have seen this play so many times in the EPL and La Liga and that 99.9 goes to the midfielder. Euro football is in a different level. Before getting a ball they already know where the next pass goes.

    Thanks so much for this! Could you also clarify some of the lingo that’s used (esp for beginners)? For example “checking my shoulder” & “final third plays”? Thanks!

    Amazing to see your progress, think you should trust yourself a bit more and take just a split second extra to evaluate your passing options which can be easier if you work on your scanning when out of possession. You need to be looking over your shoulder all match like you owe someone money.

    Hey Matt, these videos are reall helpful especially that I myself am interested in trying playing as a right back. Please keep making these. One thing am recently struggling with is when I have the ball, after a dribble or just after recieving a pass, I sometimes am not able to find any option and I sort of stall and usually end up losing the ball or giving away a bad pass, any help as to how I can work on that? Anyone helping would be appreciated

    • @IanB22
      @IanB22 3 месяца назад

      scan - scan the field FREQUENTLY - so that when the ball DOES come to you, you already know where your team is and MAYBE already have an idea of where you are going with it. Lots of videos on this, but for my son, it's taken about 3 months to get used to scanning all the time....he started in practice and it was TOUGH, but NOW he is getting good at it.

    Matt, I want to tell you that I've watched a few of your 1v1 and training videos and I want to give you some feedback.
    I notice that when you play your matches, you seem to play a little flustered, or nervous. I observe your training videos even against other pros and you HAVE the tools to be relaxed and calm when in matches. (you have the endurance for sure. You have the skill, there IS no doubt. You have the speed, even at your age. You have the game IQ... your scanning is REAL good)
    I think you need to trust in your training and be MORE sure of yourself when you play matches. The reason I say this as well, is that you mention that you're not comfortable receiving the ball in certain situations and I wonder where you're coming from since you more than MEET the criteria to be effective in said situations.
    For someone like you that IS SUCH a work horse (I know you can't doubt this) you need to have more faith in your skills and abilities. I KNOW you can play more relaxed and calm on the ball; you have the tools to be that player. You just need to believe in your training.
    For the next match, I want to see you playing more relaxed and calm... CONVINCED that you put in the required effort in training to feel all the time you have on the ball. I feel like if you can adopt this calm relaxed style of play, you'll REALLY be able to showcase ALL your talent in the field.

    • @IanB22
      @IanB22 3 месяца назад +2

      I agree with this point to an extent.... I think when he is on defense, making defensive decisions, he looks very confident and calm.... it's in that final 1/3 where he can use this more, and honestly I think it COULD be just more game-speed decisions in the final 1/3 that will help him get there. He 100% does have the skill to be as calm on offense as defense - MAYBE just establishing good relationships or closer relationships with the #10 and #9 players will give him the trust he needs to play confidently up top??
