  • NOTE: This update was pulled shortly after release due to a problem with VP-X Trim indications as described in Garmin's Service Advisory 23043. This has since been rectified as of 5/10/23 and Garmin has release v9.22 with this fix implemented. ALL customers on 9.21 should update to 9.22 immediately!

    Did this new upgrade remove procedures? I used to be able to load a GPS procedure without a navigator installed

    Where are you sourcing your master caution and warning switches from and are they dimmable? Will you sell them for retrofit purposes for already built panels?

      Yes we can sell them, They are not dimmable since the ground is controlled by the GEA 24, we wouldn't want to dim them anyway as this could cause them to not be seen if dimmed too far. With the new update you can extinguish them anyway.

    What is the normal gap between certified and experimental update channel releases? Certified software channel still at 9.15.

      There is no measurable time, it’s all about the certification process.

    As a few have mentioned, the release was pulled back, there was an issue found within the VPX portion os the software so hang tight, this will be one of the better releases we have had in a while.

      Are caution and warning acknowledgements from the panel now separate discretes? I did not find a wiring diagram on Garmin’s website yet that defines this but their ops manual alludes to 3 separate discrete inputs which I’ll copy here. Can you explain what all 3 are now doing? ‘Remote CAS Acknowledgement - Three new discrete input presets were added that facilitate the remote acknowledgement of Caution and Warning level CAS Messages.’

      @@luckymacy the 3 possible discrete selections will be Caution, Warning or Both in the case of a single button. So yes it will be possible to have individual acknowledgements if you have 2 independent buttons.

    Please advise if there is a way to increase the font size for the airspeed and aLtitude on he ribbons. As an older pilot quite a few of these digital figures are really hard to read. Many thanks. Warren - South Africa

      The FAA mandate to minimum font size and says if you have trouble reading it you shouldn't be in the cockpit anyway. Personally I think that's a shit rule because experienced pilots brains fill in a lot of information but that's just what the FAA says

    Hallo from Germany. Today I did an update and I have a lot of problems. Update 9.22. ANot receiving GPS navigator RS-232 data, Not receiving GTXTIS A RS232 data using internal GPS flight plan for navigation. Red X 8 AIRSPEED FAIL, ATTITUDE FAIL, So, do you have any idear what it is wrong? Thanks a lot. Best Regards

      That is a strange problem, if you boot into config mode and go to System Information see if everything is communicating. Also check the RS-232 page to be sure the settings are still correct.

      @@MidwestPanels We believe the GSU 25 is defective because it no longer makes contact with the gdu, we ran the update again and also tried an downgrade.
