This clip perfectly captured the "Spirit of The Pretty Things" present during their long standing career (1963 - 2018). Many great musicians were part of this unique and amazing band over the years!
Every drummer they hired seemingly needed to know how to smash up their equipment and be a showman onstage, that was more important than the drumming LOL
I never knew until now that Skip played with the Pretties but I knew he worked with Moby Grape and Jefferson Airplane, what a shame he didn't have a longer career.
Funny how the Ybirds had Clapton, beck, page, and the pretties 3 drummers like that......crazyness in changing roles!!!!!! Not the the same affects!!!!! Thanks mister Phil, Dick, Brian and John, You are a real avant-garde treasure of modernity in roughness cool and elegancy pop-art attitude and for ever in the hall of fame of my heart.......

The Pretty Things were the first punks IMO, look up Rosalyn. Iggy was such a fan that when he met them he head butted a wall and then danced with Phil May. Joey Ramone said they were the biggest influence on them, Mick Jones and Johnny Rotten's first concerts around 12yo was The Pretties.
After hearing and seeing what the Pretties did during their career, I haven't heard ANY super bands, Stones, Beatles, anything like that. They all sounded spoiled, silly, pretentious and banal. It's like wanting to kick Keith Richards' ass, if you know what I mean.
@@ronmilkowski4040 In general Jon took over, because he was a drummer as well (allround musician), although I cannot identify him, here on this recording. R.I.P. Jon.

They went through drummers like Tory party go through leaders 😂, seriously though a top band 🎸🇬🇧🥁
Viv, Twink, Skip
Spinal Tap? 😮
Wow what a gig to be at !!!!
Man, that’s punk... ❤️❤️❤️
Unbelievable, and I’m writing this in 2020! Lol
Skip was ALWAYS the best and my favorite Pretties drummer. Too cool for words!
R.I.P dear Phil, thank your for 75 years of máximum rock n’ roll.
Skip didn’t even miss a beat!
This is incredible. Thank you so much.
Absolutely bloody amazing 😎
I like the drummer, the reincarnation of a cool British gentleman.
Unbelievable, superb.
For those who think Viv Prince was The Pretty Things' wildest drummer! Taped on 1st June 1967, shame there's no studio version of the song.
I've been looking cause I wanna see a full lyric sheet. This is 100% gold.
Every drummer they hired seemingly needed to know how to smash up their equipment and be a showman onstage, that was more important than the drumming LOL
Just one of the three demented drummers the Pretties had in their lineup
Thanks fkr this rarity! Skip drummed for the Pretties, had absolutely no idea.
Absolutely shocking - and GREAT !
1st June 1967
Skip Alan looks like Skip Spence here
#Twiggy in the audience!
The drummer, 'what was in that water again' 😆🙈
Liquid Sky Dreams!

Different Skip. This is Skip Alan. You are thinking of the great Skip Spence.
@@ronmilkowski4040 thank you and both drummers well and truly rocked. The drummer in this video does look so much Spence my mistake.
And Donovan
Viv Prince, Skip Alan and Twink...what a legacy!!!

Pre-Stooges stuff
Not quite.

he high?
As a Georgia pine.
Music is the greatest drug!
Lost Mikly.
No, Skip was always like that naturally. I have known him very well and he never used drugs.
Drummer on speed?
Na...
No, Skip was always like that naturally. I have known him very well and he never used drugs.
What album is this on?
Unfortunately, this great song was never recorded and that is a shame!
Mientras Skip bajo con el público, quien toca la batería?
Acaso no es la grabación en directo, la que se escucha, en éste vídeo?
I am guessing Phil jumped on to keep the beat.
