That's a great question! The short answer: it's not bad The longer answer: it depends. Because before, in Yunnan province (the only region suitable for planting coffee trees in China), there were no coffee farms but tea plantations. Locals started to grow coffee quite recently following the growth of the industry. I was told by coffee tasters who score Yunnan beans that coffee is getting better on average almost every season. But many farms are just "trying" a new thing. They don't know much about coffee, and it tastes accordingly. So now it varies from "better than average" to "really bad". 😅 But yeah, the coffee that grows there is normal. There are products suitable for a global market already. Even Starbucks has its own farm in Yunnan to supply its cafes in China.
Thanks for watching! Actually, I drank a latte with 五粮液 baijiu here in Sichuan more than a year ago: "before it became mainstream", haha. (in fact, I even tried to make a video during that trip: ruclips.net/video/SAREqJKnQ4c/видео.html) Speaking of video issues... If you could remember at which clip you noticed something was wrong, that could greatly help!
What is your opinion of Chinese grown coffee?

I would have gone to this!!!
I remember coming to Chengdu 5 years ago, and coffee was hard to find. Now, there is so much to choose from.
Chengdu grows so fast like it's just in a video game🤣
And Check out Luckin's new Maotai Coffee lol. Nice video! The frame rate is a bit weird, perhaps look into that!

Hey great video
Thank you for watching!
I am double-shot espresso per day guy. I would love to see this expo of coffee if I were in Chengdu today.
Me too! I got an Italian coffee machine at home.🥰
And well, maybe next time... It's also a great place to stock coffee beans!😎
