When you put the head back on verify valve/cam timing with a degree wheel and a dial indicator. CALL JBR or Drag Cartel and ask where you should set it. Valve lash not being properly adjusted is why those valves were black. I would check lash before and after the dyno just in case. This isn't a street engine. If that engine really had 2 miles on it and 5-6 pulls you have some valves that are bending or tuliping if lash wasn't set after the head was bolted on the second time. Verify your coolant temp sensor is reading properly with a temp gun and let the engine cool off between hits. It failed on the exhaust side, that tells you things are hot and moving around
@traviskridler8868 A couple of things happen. If a valve is getting too too hot and tuliping, it's effectively pushing the stem further up. Losing(or tightening) any set lash. And possibly hanging the valve off the seat ever so slightly. It looked like only 1 valve per cylinder. There's a possibility the Lash wasn't set after the head was bolted on, and the distortion from those really fancy headstuds took lash away (not likely but not impossible)
Just went through this with a newly built ramey racing block, i also moved on with stainless steel wire and 625+ head studs. Those studs are torque to 100ft lbs in three equal steps.
I know your tools work great but I think you would love Milwaukee 3/8 stubby and the insider rachet, as a technician I use them daily and they are fantastic!
What's the cold start set up like on those. is there coolant pipes running to the throttle body idle control valve that has a rubber gasket in kind of like the Subaru's. Very high boost could push past a failing seal into the coolant system through there and push coolant. Obviously not if that system has been removed or non existent on that car.
Soooo someone fill me in. I’m not familiar with k at all. Don’t most people want vtec what is the gain of the vtec killer cam beside permanently deactivating vtec ?

Would the lash be too loose or to tight in this case?

“Should be a nice and simple build” famous last words.. ha

This has to be one of my dream builds. 😊I will own one one day only problem hear in the uk there all rusted out
You guys got all the bmw cars I want and we got all the Hondas In the world lol
Hondas torque to 22ft/lbs +180 degrees in 2 steps 270 degrees for new bolts. New that comes out to around 200ft/lbs.
i dont like how the rebuild episodes are short😭😭😭😭
I own a 04 accord and would love to get a rhd 90s Honda just for the experience 🔥🔥
Great job! 👍
1000whp here we come 🥳
You should put that 1000hp in one of the nsx

Salute Hass💯
Loose for boost is the honda way 🤘
What engine stand catch pan are you using?
Most dont understand how bad it also is to tighten head studs that tight. U will blow gasket every 10k or 5k miles depending on how you drive it
The gun show, putting those guns to work🤭 also is the oil pump upgraded, meaning did Josh port the oil pump to prevent starvation past 8k?
🔥🔥🔥
2 liter heater!
🔥 🔥 🔥
Very cool
Finally 🫶🏼
What are those copper O-ring for?
Do you help others rebuild their engines?
Isn’t it called a “Fire Ring” not an “O-ring”
Sometimes the BMW rip video is playing in my mind subconsciously the way a good blockbuster replays in the mind.✌️✌️🇰🇪🇰🇪
