I had no idea this film existed until I happened upon it yesterday. It absolutely blew me away. The writing, editing, sound design, cinematography. Everything just knocked me for six.
Have you read the book? The creatures in it are fantastic. They simply couldn't recreate them in the time period. I think they made a great movie in it's own way but the book is soo much better.
@@johngidman4574 I just got finished reading it. Slightly disappointed. The horror elements were spot on. The way the creatures hunted could make your blood go cold, but ultimately , I felt more sorry for them than the two Human Protagonists. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not.
I saw this movie once again this evening, after maybe 30 years and the person who’s lived in Arizona, my whole life I wondered what South Bronx looked like now. Thank you for this.
This movie is filmed in almost all of the boroughs minus queens! In fact I love how Staten Island is depicted in this movie! Not many NY movies is filmed there 😢
Thank you so much for this masterpiece - i am pretty sure it took a lot of time for taking the shots... I saw the movie for the first time, a masterpiece. I heard there must be a 4 hours version but pitty has never been released. Orian Pictures should relaunch it with the longer version...
This is a favorite movie of mine for decades.... finally got the Blue Ray and original size movie poster last year for my birthday. I enjoyed every second of this ....having the money to move to one of those upgraded locations would be Awesome . I subscribed here and Thank you for this .
Love this movie.....and this is a fantastic filming locations video.... perfect lining up! It astounded me how different the South Bronx looks now.... Great video 💯💯💯💯💯💯
When I think of horror creature features in New York City I think of 2 80s horror, this one and "CHUD" im wondering if that movie was shot in the same area.
My dad took me to see this in the theater back in 1981; it was always my favorite "werewolf" movie of that year over The Howling and American Werewolf in London. This video is top-notch! How did you get the shot up on the Manhattan Bridge? Wow!
As a longtime fan of Wolfen, this video is beyond badass. Lots of love must have gone into it. Congratulations, sir!
Thanks. Wolfen is a film I discovered later in life and immediately was determined to find all the locations. Such an eerie depiction of NYC.
The south bronx area in the film is unforgettable. One of my all-time fave films.

The transformation of the South Bronx over the past 49 years is absolutely astounding.
40 years
xd
I was punching the air and shouting WOW at every comparison. Phenomenal vid. Thanks a million from a top Wolfen fan.
one of my favorite movies. Great job on the filming locations.
This is amazingly well-done, especially the way you were able to pinpoint some fairly obscure locations from 40+ years ago.
Thanks. Go to my NYCinFilm website if you're curious on how I found some of the more obscure locations.

The Bronx was really burned out, it’s so many blocks I seen and walked past, and never knew it looked like that. It’s so different today.
If they made this film today, all the wolfen creatures would be CGI.
The idea of that makes me want to cry..... Thank God Hollywood doesn't seem to want it
Xcellent work as usual how bout Lords of flatbush saturdaynite fever???

It’s crazy how the Bronx changed since the 1970’s early 80’s. The place used to look like it was nuked back then
