Can’t wait for part 2! Absolutely love how you can communicate the fine details of the kata without making it confusing. You don’t go too slow or too fast either. Thank you!
Today I got my green belt ☺️ it's very early and it's possible only because of you n sensei Zoe 😘 n now i m learning 4th kata Seiyunchin through ur video for green belt...... Thank you so much Sensei..Oss !!🙏
Thank you so much for your kind words, @dewetleroux3909! We appreciate the time you took to watch and comment :) Your wish is our command! Shisochin: ruclips.net/video/Gsq4AXcuSHQ/видео.html (we have a bunch of Shisochin vids, but start with this one) Sanseiru: ruclips.net/video/D9iOuz11lFY/видео.html (plus YT should auto-suggest the partner videos to this too :)
Thanks, Sensei! Great presentation. Easy to understand and follow. As always, the detailed and scientific explanation of why the moves are done in a certain way is why I keep coming back. As another commenter also wrote, I think this is the best lesson on Seiyunchin to date. I don't know how I missed this video from a year ago... I found this through the playlist (Blue, Purple, and Brown Belt syllabus). Thanks a bunch for organizing these videos and for the tireless work behind the scenes. :-)
Ah, so kind, so kind! The material is solid, but I struggle to look at our older videos because I cringe at the editing and quality 😫 But the important thing is that it still helps others, and that's our goal, at the end of the day: to make karate better and more accessible for others (and to make great karate friends too!)
I made it to 2nd degree brown belt in GoJu Ryu starting when I was 7 and stopping at age 16. I remember practicing this kata thousands of times. The way you're doing it is the exact same way my sensei taught me to do it. You may even know my old sensei. (Maybe not since I just saw you're not in the US) Thank you for the video, this brought back a lot of good old memories. P.s this is my favorite kata, I feel at peace while doing it yet i get a feeling of strength as well. Phenomenal presentation 👏
What a special message to recieve on a bright Friday morning! Ché knows so many instructors, it's quite likely he may know your Sensei. How beautiful it is that a kata can reconnect us to our memories, and connect people across the world 🗺️ Thank you for watching and commenting 🙇🏻♀️ 🙇🏻♀️
I think I can consider this Sensei like a representant among the best Sensei to explain in details without to stress People Who er learning whith him. It is realy a big moment to follow your information. 👍👍🤛🤛Thanks!!
@@GojuRyuKarateCentre you make it... 👍and I HOPE People Who wants to learn understand how much works it needs and not only this, but very important, I think to get Also the karate spirit.. I think Goju Ruyo is the best form for karate and I heard it is going to get his place in the organisation of World heritage.?? I hope so. Good luck every body of your team. Domo 🤛arigato. 🤛
Hooray! This is always what we hope for, and it is so amazing that we can make our own kata libraries to refer to now! Karate books are important, but learning kata from them is so much harder 😅
I’m currently on orange belt and there is a brown belt and a green and blue belt in my classes so I’m kind of learning this kata so this was helpful to surprise my sensei
Ah, that's so great to hear! We love it when a student shows such diligent study and application. Bet your Sensei was happy to see your extra study 🥋 Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment - we appreciate it 🙇🏻♀️
Greeetings! You so kind and helpful master, so i hope you will answer me. As a many young boys from our region i was a boxer. We have a good teacher, and he never told us, that boxing is everithing you need. All of us understand, that boxing doesnt have atrophied blocking hands technique because of gloves. So, after boxing i vent to karate to find proper system of connection legs, torso and hand movements. But it is not there. I still do not understand, hov it possible to fight with always straight back(we call it mad hare style). WTF, thinking every boxer. In chinese movies they have lot of idiotical moves, but they move! Slip the punches. And all japanese deflecting strikes and stand so straight, like they swalloved scrap. I thought, in GoJu ryu because of Ju they has no such problems. I like kakie, and many other. But when i look on Higaonna, i really think he is wooden. All of them. Where is Ju? I havent seen any video, where after static kihon would do the same blocks and punches, shifting weight from foot to foot, slipping and moving from side to side. I am writing this not to offend You and all karatekas, but because I feel sorry for karate, which has a lot of good things.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write such a long, thoughtful comment. The softness in Goju is not in the final impact, but the moments before. We relax, and then explode on impact (this is called Chinkuchi) and the fluidity is in the flexibility and movement of the fighter, or at least it should be. We've touched on this in a couple of our videos, but we understand that from the outside, much of karate does look purely hard. It is difficult for a system to be all things to all people, but when taught and understood holistically, Goju Ryu has strikes, kicks, throws, locks, chokes and groundwork built in. (Please check our bunkai videos to see some of these details) Hopefully you have found that which works for you, regardless of style - what matters is what works for you :)
Absolutely! We will be filming more kata content soon, so thank you for the Sanchin vote! Any particular aspects of Sanchin you would like to see in detail?
@@GojuRyuKarateCentre the legs. I have been doing Sanchin for 5 years and I still don't know what the legs should be doing. I ask my Sensei and he just talks about the toes digging in to the mat. I think maybe he himself doesn't know. But honestly I would love to see you pick apart the entire kata like you did here.
We can definitely do that! There's a lot going on in the legs during the kata, but it does indeed start with the toes. We will queue Sanchin filming soon!

For the third part of the beginning in my dojo for the punch we just put our right hand on top of are left and we have to make the fist while punching
It is the differences that make karate interesting - love hearing how different dojos approach the same kata :)
Thank you Sensi. Very well done indeed. Thank you for the continued advised and help on kata moves.
