I'm from Newfoundland now living in Ontario. Grew up on the ocean. Icebergs also come into my area of Newfoundland. Last time that I had a vacation home was in 2002. Think I need to go home. I miss it.
Hey. It's George, the guy who climbed the iceberg in this video. Feel free to ask me any questions you wish. Cheers!
What's the most extreme danger? Rolling or breaking?
Must the ice be a over surface for it to be a berg?are some ice bergs fully submerged?
Have you ever dived in and swam below?
Why don't they melt in the water. Or drift out further and further
Are there ever any organisms ?under the surface?
The red head 👀 She's really passionate about her job I can tell❣️💯👌
Beautiful icebergs, well done documentary.! :D
Speechless
This is fantastic.😊
1st comment!
Does anyone else open the microwave before it reaches 0 so you don't have to here it beep?
@Grizzly I can relate to that 😀☝🏾

Wow Beautiful
Wow damm love it 😲
South Africa could use that as drinking water 💧
LMFAO
Why not use a drone to put a sensor on an iceberg?
I'm the guy from the video. You could drop a sensor onto an iceberg with a drone, but the odds of it staying on place would be slim. These icebergs are slippery, they melt and roll and flip with the waves and tides. I had to use a special ice-climbing screw to attach the beacon to the ice.
Exciting video but there was one glaring error at around 1:24 when it was said that Newfoundland was the "most easterly point in North America". Actually, Greenland is also in North America and is much more easterly. The video is still exciting to watch, though. I have driven from KY just to watch the icebergs in Labrador and hope to see them again next year.
Yeah, Newfoundland makes many false claims. Another one is that St.John's is the oldest city in North America...And I'm from Newfoundland.

How sweet would it be figure out a way to *capture those air bubbles* that are _hundreds,_ sometimes _thousands_ of years old *for the **_ultimate oxygen bar_*
Darn junkie! 😆
Makes a lovely drink. Listing to ice that takes forever to melt. 10,000 year old icecube.
But, after the melt, does he retrieve all the equipment that he planted on the berg?
That guys an adrenaline junkie! Just amazing.
🇨🇦 👍
Can't stand bragging risk takers. And when it goes wrong other people have to risk their lives to save them.
Thank you, that was amazing to watch. I believe the melting glaciers are a natural occurance. Part of the earth's normal cycle.
☕☕
Bt titanic hates it
That iceberg he’s climbing looks as dangerous as a feather pillow.
It's me, the iceberg climber in the video. That berg weighs thousands of tonnes and it rolled 2 1/2 hours before I climbed, it and again a couple of hours after I got off of it. I assure you, even small icebergs are very dangerous to get close to.
Yeah then you do it.. or just watch one collapse within seconds and tell me you wanna climb that..
"You step on an iceberg, only one person has ever been there...." Come On!
I grew up among the icebergs in Ilulissat, Greenland. I even snowboarded on one that was way bigger than these puny ice seen here.
He means only one person has stepped on that particular iceberg and I’m calling bullshit on whatever farce of a story you’re trying to tell bud, you wanna blow smoke go have a dart
