So you're telling me the Eclipse did not have a NOS fogger system, a T4 turbo, an AIC controller, direct port nitrous injection, or a stand-alone fuel management system? :o
Craig, when 2F2F launched in DVD, I remember buying it and only watching the behind the scenes with you talking. I watched the movie once, but remember watching those videos about the cars over and over and over again, just like these videos you are posting! I just loved hearing you talk about cars, and all the little things about them. I learned a lot through you. Just wanted to let you know and thank you for fueling my passion for cars as a youngster and progressing to my adult life now!
Knew the RX-7 would have destroyed them but I love watching these videos. All these years later and I'll never forget watching this for the first time. Absolute classic.
Also, a lot of people didn't realize that the drag race basically looped over at least four times if you noticed carefully, seeing the rx7 in the lead crossing the finish line each time. Yeah, I'm still scratching my head about that floor pan, and someone had mentioned in the comments one time about Dominic getting in the passenger side and not having his feet fall through the bottom. Thank you for the explaination of these videos, really interesting. And compliments to your car collection.
The thing that makes it funnier is that, in reality, that generation of Eclipse is unibody. The frame and body of the car are one giant piece, meaning it shouldn't have bolted on floorboards.
I’ve done it before. 1980’s Buicks rarely had floorboards by the end of the decade. I remember my aunt just throwing her cigarettes out the hole in the floor while driving with me in no seatbelt and smoking with the window up.
Man if only that Eclipse was GST or GSX...still i felt in love with her,i was a kid when i first saw it and i didn't know what car was that,i searched in Gran Turismo till i find it,it was my dream car and now i own one since i was 16,i will never sell it

I used "Danger to manifold" as my overboost warning on my last 700hp 911 turbo build haha. Oh, and nitrous bottle pressure is reduced as it's used because the bottle cools down, so a sudden spike is very unlikely unless the heater overheated the bottle somehow.
Great analysis and content. I remember when my son was 2 years old we would watch the "live my life a QTR mile at a time " race to beat the train at the end of Fast and Furious. We must have watched it 100 times and my son would say "watch again - I want to see the black car crash". Good times....Keep up the good work.
I'm not sure if the whole scene would've been so memorable, and such a classic for me to this day, if it wasn't for the iconic technobabble and the acting. Maybe it wasn't realistic at all, but god damn, watching this race cracks me the hell up everytime. Then the race ends, Brian picks up Dom, and I end up watching the whole movie again. Such a classic.
watching this again for fun. "caution overboost" would have definitely made sense to the general audience. but "danger to manifold" lives on as comedy gold royalty.
I’ve already watched nearly twenty videos from This channel before work! Great content, and I’m not even a fan of the fast and furious, I just like cars. Keep up the good content!
FUN FACT: A LOT of 4 banger owners were upset by bone stock cars. I would know, I was laughed at in the early 2000's when I drove a 1998 Seville STS. Took it to the drag strip. Before the "V" stuff started. Everyone laughed. "You can't race a Cadillac." "That's an old man car." They'd rip their interior out. Remove their spare and jack. I'd race full weight, and bone stock. I didn't win every race. But, I won more than I lost. And upsetting the ricers was hilariously fun. And, I could just leave and go home after I was done. Meanwhile, the ricers had to put their cars back together and find an air compressor to fill their all season tires back up. 😅😂🤣😅😂🤣

It’s awesome to see all the specifics and behind the scenes stuff like this even so many years later. There may have been unrealistic moments from time to time, but for the most part they did very well considering most cars weren’t any powerhouses lol
Fun fact: the exact Civic you showed in the video at 5:34 is or was in the Dezer collection in Miami. I saw it there two years ago. I looked kind of rough so I'm not sure it was a hero car. There was also an RX7, Eclipse and Integra from the movie along with a lot of other movie cars, it's a collection definitely worth visiting. I believe the collection has since moved to a new facility in Orlando. Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them.
I sorta get you're trying to make a joke about rotaries being unreliable, but even so, nope. FD even completely stock will always, ALWAYS smoke that tegga in a drag. @Floordford After seeing your comment I edited the race down so that it was a real 10 second race. Take a look here ruclips.net/video/IXznp9vCYm4/видео.html
Not surprised, I always knew Brian's Eclipse was an RS given the rear drum brakes and funky valve cover. Why the decision was made to not acquire a GSX I will never know. Should have at least started with a GS, that way they could at least throw stupid amounts of boost at it and just suffer the traction and torque steer deficiencies. What did come as a surprise is that the Integra has USF plates, meaning to me, he's a local as I live in Central Florida. Never been a huge Honda fan but that's still pretty cool.
Straight up. My parents had a 2001 Corolla in stick and I would bust that ass in my 97 Maxima GLE auto every single time without turning off overdrive and the Corolla redlining in every single gear. Or at least close to redlining by the sound since the good people in Canada decided not to put a tachometer on a manual car but did so for the automatic ones.
If you were running a E120 Corolla in XRS trim. the engine with that package was the 2ZZ-GE with a 6 speed MT. Those engines were good for about 170-180 hp. It would have put you neck-n-neck with the integra. Getting more power out of it to hang with an FD RX-7, however, would have been challenging given the engine was never really taken too seriously by tuners or the after market (outside of Japan and Lotus in the UK because the used them in the Elise)
@@tycobandit depends on the gearing honestly. And the weight difference. @@craiglieberman Hey Craig, is it possible to ask you for a little more info about the flatbed GMC towtruck where Brian delivers the wrecked supra with? I'm building a lot of these cars on 1/18 scale, but there is practically no info about it. Thought you are the man to ask it to. Thanks in advance!
I mean, to be fair, although the Danger to manifold system is funny now, I didn't know much about cars when this movie came out (was around 7 years old). Still one of my favorite movies today, much love and respect from Iowa Craig!
LOVE THIS SERIES, you should do your own movie with Paul Walkers Brother with a correct script, the last movies are disgusting, and living off the franchises first movies fame. Maybe a hardcore true to life cold script
Craig Liberman is like a wrestling booker, giving out the secrets disappointing a lot of fans. I thought Brian's Eclipse made at least 300 hp and did 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The only expensive work on the cars are the paint jobs.
Craig... you are too Cool!!! You just tell it how it is..... and I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! I can just see your facial expressions and hear your sighs, when you first saw the movie’s BS!!!
This dude Craig will read a 2 page list of mods like: forged rods/ pistons, built heads, intake, headers, exhaust, boost controller, big turbo, FMIC, EWG and BOV, intake manifold, braided fuel lines, pump, E85 and say yeah the car had some basic bolt ons😂
Honestly, it depends on the mods per car. Every car besides the rx7 is kinda "per mods". I've personally owned 4 dsm cars, all turbos. TONS of Hondas, I've had every generation Integra, I've had multiple other cars (over 80 as of today). I've had a 86 RX7 non turbo back in 2003. Straight piped and super clean. Black on red with chrome turbo wheels amd drag wing. It was insane. 4ft flames out of each pipe every shift. There was no redline. The Rx7 is by far the most crazy, intense, most monstrous car. Boost it, and it'll enter your memory forever. Maybe nightmares...yeah, and that wasn't the fastest.
I love these videos by Craig. Really appreciate it. I think YOU should make a new movie...for the old f&f fans. (without the Rock/Submarines/Space shuttles/ jet packs etc)

Are you gonna talk about the Dodge Rams from 2F2F?
He’s mentioned them before. They were basically cosmetic only builds for a few scenes. No big deal.
The lightning shop truck was Da Best!
All I got to say is these movies were my childhood thank you for making this video I've always wondered who would win thank you thank you thank you
The hero 1 car of the eclipse looks really nice
Facts. Most underrated car in the franchise.
Really enjoy the videos!!! Keep them coming, I’m always interested to see what you come up with next.
What happened? Thanks again Craig!
Universal copyright claim for using too much movie footage. Had to make some edits and re-upload
@@craiglieberman Those guys are fast... And furious.
Incredible thank you may favorite say danger to manifolds lol 😂☠️😂☠️
Omg. 40 cars?!?! In 39 years. Woah. More than qualified...
LOVE THIS SERIES, you should do your own movie with Paul Walkers Brother with a correct script, the last movies are disgusting, and living off the franchises first movies fame. Maybe a hardcore true to life cold script
I remember watching that first race, then returning the DVD. Never finished the movie.
Thank you so much for he videos please keep them coming
Craig Liberman is like a wrestling booker, giving out the secrets disappointing a lot of fans. I thought Brian's Eclipse made at least 300 hp and did 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The only expensive work on the cars are the paint jobs.
That's why it's called Hollywood Magic. Not Hollywood reality.
Press F for Big Bird. Gone but never forgotten.
Craig... you are too Cool!!! You just tell it how it is..... and I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! I can just see your facial expressions and hear your sighs, when you first saw the movie’s BS!!!
O love these videos thanks for sharing...
F&f big fan from Portugal
You are a hero to me now Craig!!
"it was all bullshit." XD
still love this movie it's a god damn cult movie for car guys!
This dude Craig will read a 2 page list of mods like: forged rods/ pistons, built heads, intake, headers, exhaust, boost controller, big turbo, FMIC, EWG and BOV, intake manifold, braided fuel lines, pump, E85 and say yeah the car had some basic bolt ons😂
6:24. With all things considered if all 4 racers had traction problems at launch, Brian also had a late launch.
Awesome vid, ur so right some minor tweeks would have made the film even better.
4:47 I find it funny when you say curse words 😂😂
even though Brian's Eclipse had those actual mods for the movie, still looks nice though 👌
Thanks for another interesting video Craig.
Ive seen the rx7 and eclipse stunt cars at the hollywood cars museum in vegas. Super awesome
The "floor manifold failure" alone was a total move of disrespect for anyone who knew how to at least put fuel in their own car...
Nice plug for DIYMike. He's the best!
Love your videos
Even you crushed all my dreams
Thank you so much for these videos I love the first fast movie I have the collectors edition on DVD and vhs
Maybe the eclipse blew a turbo seal or boost leak....could tie into the manifold part of "danger to manifold" warning as well lol.
4:46 I have no idea why this was so funny lol
I love these videos by Craig. Really appreciate it. I think YOU should make a new movie...for the old f&f fans. (without the Rock/Submarines/Space shuttles/ jet packs etc)
Yeah the new fast and furious movies became action movies and not car movies. Can't stand them.
