I wish they'd do some with rubber soles for a bit more durability. Those driving loafers with white sneaker-like outsoles are just a bit too casual tho.
Thank you for the feedback. We have had a few customers who have had rubber sole covers added to the bottom of the soles, which is primarily good for winter and wet weather wear, as an option. The leather soles, as is, are very durable, however.
they are. read about the sizing on the website. They fit in line with sperrys for example. Be warned though, these shoes are on the narrow side. I usually wear an 8 but the Jay Butler 8 while being the correct length was too narrow for my wide foot. I ended up going with the 8.5 and it worked out. Order true to size, and half size up for wide feet.
Normally, I wear a U.S. 10 to 10.5 in most shoes (e.g. Sperry, Vans, skate shoes, athletic shoes, etc.) and a 9 to 9.5 in dress shoes. Both the 9.5 and 10 sizes fit far too large for me. Despite the 9.5 being long as hell, they were beginning to feel snug. Eventually I’d like to give them a shot in a size 9, but I know they’ll be narrow. And I tried the loafers on without socks, no shoe socks, thin dress socks, and wool socks. Maybe my foot just doesn’t agree with their sizing?
They look awesome, Jon. Could say that you're glad I suggested you wear loafers, right? Looking forward to seeing you in higher tiered loafers and tuxedo pumps, my friend.
Not familiar with Jay Butler. Love loafers and these look great! I have a pair of Ecco loafers that I really like for casual wear. Price was similar to your JBs. Will definitely check out the link! Thanks!
conradwasalski4200 it's has a very thin outer sole and leather that it seem like it will wear in one week and also they just have very casual look to them compared to an AE loafer. An Allen Edmonds loafer for $50-$100 more(on sale but AE at least has couple sales a year compared JB that hardly ever) it has more of a formal look to them and more robustness that can be a work shoe besides play. I have the bit& string loafer that's my experience on so keep that mind never seen his other loafers. I do hope JB will release the alligator loafer again it is the cheapest loafer I seen on the market for that skin type.
We're working on finding another factory that will work with ostrich and gator, the first one stopped. They are not the easiest leathers to work with, unfortunately. But stay tuned, hope to have updates in the coming months.
One has to ask... How many closets have you taken over in your home to store all your clothes? You poor wife must be fighting for a fraction of the clothing space. Quality shoes never go out of style.
The Kavalier that’s called being ripped off. Just because a price is 200 doesn’t mean anything. It’s called suckered. Just go and get the real horse bit loafers, that’s like buying sneaker chukkas
Thank you for the great review and unboxing Jon, glad you like your Jay Butlers!
Thanks for the video! I've been longing to see their shoes up close! I'm sold!
+DJ PC Baby! Can't get much closer than this! Hope you like!
Lol I definitely do!
Thanks for this!! Was looking to try these
I'm not normally one who cares for loafers but those are very nice looking

Kav: Suede, to me feels like a fall-winter look especially in the jewel tone colors. How do you pull it off during the spring-summer?
Are they true to size?
+AlbrtoEntertainment they line up with my dress shoes. I'd say size down especially if wearing sock less

Do you think this will look good with my prom outfit (tuxedo) or is not formal enough
Those look great! Also, have you checked out Luxire custom dress shirts? Was curious on how it fits relative to the competitive pricing
I picked up a few of their shirts a couple years ago and they are great. In particular, they do a great roll on their OCBDs.

These shoes have great silhouette and are very comfortable but definitely not an office work shoe.
why do you say that?

Been wanting to ask for ages. Where did you get that shirt??
bit.ly/2lVshuV Looks like they don't have the line of dress shirts anymore but could come back.

Not a fan of this style of loafer but great review. Thanks for producing so much content. Whew. Don't know how ya do it! Keep up the great work! :)
check out their dark brown penny loafer, its the gateway drug of loafers
Cheap shoes won’t last very long.
I don’t consider $200 to be cheap shoes.
