i love your interpretation of what the song meant to you. i also love that your listening to a genre completely different from what you normally listen to. I also got from the song that taylor is tired of everyday life and what it has to offer and at any moment she can she daydreams. And personally i don’t blame her, her life must be hard.

Thanks, I have really been pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying her music. Her pen is not what you want to see come out if you make her mad lol.

I grew up reading "The Secret Gasrden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. She's referencing that particular book.

I think ”nostalgia is a mind trick” is one of the best lines. We all want to escape reality sometimes and say things like ”i wish it was like it was (this time)” but the truth is troubles are constant. You gotta live in the now even when its hard.
But it is easy to get away in fantasys when life is hard.
She is with Travis Kelce. Football player. And yeah she seems happy but the world can make us all wanna escape even if we’re happy in our personal life.
    Some recommendations:
    -the prophecy
    -how did it end?
    -viginalte shit
-karma (not the ice spice remix, the og)
    -no body, no crime
These are a bit different all of them

It may be about a time she was in a relationship with Joe Alwyn. They were together for almost 7 years and I think half of that time Taylor was deeply sad and tortured, because, as we can assume from other songs, Joe suffers from depression. They also started to lose their connection when or after global pandemic. And at that time Taylor wrote two fictional albums, folklore and evermore. Maybe these albums were her escapism. All these fantasies were her safe place. But I also think that this song could be about a different situation in her life. Or just a song she wrote when she was really down.

She called her Dad (Scott Swift) a "finance guy" once in an interview way back because of his profession...don't know if that means anything.
